Two years ago my first claim experience with Trupanion was excellent. My current experience with two claims for my pup Tom started out a nightmare. The person who initially handled the claims was slipshod. Yes there was a super quick "turn around" (less than 48 hours) but what good is quick turn around if work is not accurate or thorough? Upon notification of claim result I was extremely angry and felt cheated. Though it was a Sunday I called and spoke with Katie. Katie is super stellar. She LISTENS, asks good questions, is able to analyze the information while being extremely pleasant, reassuring, caring, polite. Because our conversation was on a Sunday Katie was not able to contact a supervisor and resolve the issue. She assured me my claim would be reviewed and properly handled. The second claim for Tom's same illness was quickly "handled" in the same careless, slipshod manner as the first claim. I called again. Rebecca handled the call for the second claim in much the same manner as Katie. Both Katie and Rebecca are exceptional representatives of Trupanion. The two claims submitted have not been completely resolved. Trupanion needs to "retrain" (or fire) clerks who initially handled the claims I submitted. Katie and Rebecca need to be recognized for their skills and exceptional representation of Trupanion. By the way, a third claim for Tom's illness will be submitted this week. I can't wait to see how this one will be handled. During the 8 plus years my Pups have been insured by Trupanion I have recommended the insurance to several pet parents. Linda Van Loan

Horrible, we just pay money to them
We waited for three months for them to process our claim of $500, and at the end the claim was denied because they couldn't reach the vet office. This amount was not even applied to deductible. I feel like we paying them money for nothing

Really great pet insurance provider
My family has been very happy with Healthy Paws pet insurance! We started doing research before getting our dog and the website was very easy to navigate and get a quote. After we decided on Healthy Paws, the set up process was straight forward. We got our new pup 4 months ago and have already had to submit 3 claims. I was afraid this would cause issues, but the claims process is also very easy and we have had no hassles. They provide clear and detailed claim documentation and we were able to complete everything online or via email. We received reimbursement for 2 out of the 3 claims within days (the 3rd took about 3 weeks). Thankfully and most importantly, our pup is feeling all better now! We'll continue to keep him covered by Healthy Paws.

Worth every penny
Buying pet insurance with Healthy Paws was the best decision we've made since we decided to adopt our dog Luna. The policy information is crystal clear and all of our claims have been reimbursed within a few days of filing. No issues whatsoever. Like most insurance, you don't know how badly you need it until an emergency happens. When that emergency happens (if you have a rescue dog - it will happen), you will want to literally step into a time machine and shake your past self's hand for purchasing a Healthy Paws policy. It takes the financial stress out of the equation so you can focus on what's important - talking with the vet about the best treatment options for your pet. We had one true emergency this year and saved over $3,000 thanks to the broad coverage of our plan. We'll be a customer for years to come.

Purchasing health insurance for my dog, Finn was one of the smartest decisions I have made. Finn accidentally ingested some raisins that were on the ground at the park. He was rushed to the animal hospital where he spent three long days and two nights. This was NOT a cheap stay. Thankfully I have insurance and was able to submit my claim the day he arrived home and almost all was covered and the claim was processed in days! This really put my mind and anxiety about such a large charge at ease. Healthy Paws also checked in on Finn days later to show their support and how much they actually care for your pets! I recommend and encourage all my pet owner friends to purchase Healthy Paws.
