Our two year old Jack Russell rescue went from high energy to no energy in less than a day, and a trip to the Pet ER revealed a diagnosis of IMHA. After one transfusion, we had to put him down. all within 72 hours. Pets Best processed our claim quickly and to our satisfaction and even refunded the balance of our premium. My stress level was s high

My stress level was very high because of my dogs health problems. Because the insurance claim was easy to submit and a decision was quickly made, I had no worries about the insurance claim. I was able to concentrate all my attention on taking care of my dog.

Co-Pay is counted before crediting toward deductible.

All was great, but I object to the practice of taking the co-pay off the top, then subsequently applying the 80% to the annual deductible. That is not how health insurance (for humans) works. I will have to take that into account when renewal time comes in a few months.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
