Good pet insurance overall, but the turnaround and payout times need improvement.

Overall, the service has been good. My pets’ medical bills are consistently covered, and the pricing is fair for two dogs. However, the claims process is quite slow, and refunds take longer than expected. Improving turnaround times would make the experience significantly better.

Pets Best is my first pet health…

Pets Best is my first pet health insurance. When I first got it it seemed like it took forever to get reimbursed, like three weeks plus, but lately they are paying usually within seven days!!! I feel like my pets are well covered and I am grateful for the wellness coverage!

excellent company

Extremely easy to find info and submit claims on website. Able to customize my policy (deductible, type of coverage). Claim decisions fully explained. Calls do not go to a holding queue; reps always answer. Have recommended Pets Best to my friends and family who have pets.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
