I have been bringing my dogs to Dr Blake Townsend for years and he has taken wonderful care of all 3 of them. He is very personable, caring and makes me feel very comfortable. His staff is excellent as well. I am very grateful for the care they have given my dogs over the years. Highly recommend!

For as long as my cats and I are alive and breathing in Louisville, this will be our vet. We’ve moved multiple times over the last handful of years and no other veterinary care we’ve received for our boys comes close. We see Dr. O’grady and she is extremely thorough and attentive and I cannot say enough great things about her. She was able to diagnose our 3 year old ragdoll, Theodore, with cryptorchidism, a rare inverted testicle issue, last year after we struggled to explain a change in his litter box habits and temperament (and a stray cat spraying our front door). We had been told by our breeder he had one testicle drop and removed (a lie) and other vets said sometimes singular testicles happen (probably not a lie, just wasn’t applicable to us). Never once had I been made to feel silly for calling and asking questions or giving updates to the techs and Dr. O’grady (and I called A LOT). She listened to me every. single. time. She asked questions, ran tests and never doubted or shrugged off Theo and I. Beyond grateful & thankful for the return of our sweet boys personality ! Most recently we welcomed a ragdoll kitten into our family, Franky, who transferred a viral infection to Theo. Barbour Lane got me in for an appointment ASAP when I noticed his lethargy (after a week of being inseparable from Franky) and we were seen by Dr. Townsend who patiently listened to this very upset mama, ran some tests, got Theo fluids and antibodies, while giving us a separate treatment for Franky. A relief ! I also have a tuxedo, Dexter, who is entering his senior years and I know that he and I are in excellent hands in making sure he is the healthiest and happiest in this next stage of life. Being a pet parent is so rewarding but can feel overwhelming and confusing since our babes can’t tell us when there is something wrong, but I have 100% trust in Dr. O’grady, Dr. Townsend and the amazing techs that they have in their practice. Would give 10 stars if I could !

I’ve taken my two Great Pyrenees to Dr. Mary O’Grady and we just love her. She’s so kind and gentle. When it was time to let my older baby go, she made that horrible, horrible day just a bit easier. All the vet techs are great as well, especially Raina.

We have been clients of Barbour Animal Hospital since they opened. My parents took all of their pets to them and my husband and I kept that tradition going. That have treated every pet we have ever had and we wouldn't go anywhere else. They are caring, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. They have celebrated with us as new pets came into our family and cried with us when they crossed the rainbow bridge. We now have the third generation taking their pets to Drs. O'Grady and Townsend. Our oldest son and future daughter in law take their pup there. I couldn't imagine going any place else. If I could give 10 stars I would!!
