Fine Until Your Pet Gets Sick

We have had a great experience with Embrace Pet Insurance with our chocolate Lab for many years until he started having serious health issues. Our premium since we insured him at 3 years old was around $1000 per year. This year he turned 11 and has had a rough year healthwise. I was shocked that his premium went up to $5000! I guess they only want to insure healthy pets so they can keep their profits up. We had to cancel since $5000 plus a $1000 deductible is ridiculous. Very disappointing since we have been with them so long.

I've been happy with this Insurance for both my dogs. I have had no problems submitting claims and they have all been accepted with no problem. Would definitely recommend to others.

I’m really like everything that Embrace does. How quickly Embrace handles my claim. I like the way they handle claims with a quick responds within 24 hours of submission and covered almost all of the total vet bill.

I am filing my very first claim for…

I am filing my very first claim for wellness exam on our adopted rescue. I have had this insurance for a year but didn’t realize I had wellness benefits until I got my policy renewal and looked at the policy dates. This is an 11 month old claim. Thus far, everything has been very smooth.

Extreme increase in premiums

Extreme increase in premiums this year!!! My dog is 15 years old and I started her on the insurance when she was 10. Had steadily increased a little over time but this year they nearly tripled my premiums. If you have an older dog look elsewhere or really compare with other plans. Very deceptive and didn't even provide proper justification for increase or when I asked for the decision that it was based on.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
