How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Foxfield Veterinary Services

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Hands down the best group of doctors and staff. I’ve been using Foxfield Vet for 10 years for both of my German Shepherds, and can trust them in their treatment and care. I’ve never had nothing but a great experience here. With two purebred, working-line shepherds, there are a slew of health conditions that may present, and each time, everyone has taken their time to address the concerns and treat the dogs. In the last 18 months, my older dog had some issues that were a cause for concern. I called on a Saturday morning, and was able to drop off my dog without an appointment. My concerns were eased once Dr. Tony went through everything and did a thorough examination. Every single time, I feel like my input and concerns are heard, and I am not left feeling like I have no say or control in the treatment. The vets always give you a set of options, knowing that these choices can be difficult. However, I trust that these will always be in the best interest of my dogs and myself. The staff is incredibly friendly, and always treats me with courtesy. They go above and beyond whenever I need something from a simple refill, to an appointment, or even help getting my pet insurance files together. They always reach out to third-parties whenever they say they will, and keep you in the loop with everything along the way. I could go on and on about my positive experiences with everyone here. They always make accommodations for myself. I feel comfortable knowing they take the time to help me get my one dog who gets stressed going to the vet. I love that they keep up to date on the latest treatments and medication, always opting for the safest option. Dr. Tony’s knowledge on these treatments and studies never ceases to amaze me. At the end of the day, I cannot say enough good things about this practice, their doctors, and staff. I am grateful to have such top notch care, right down the road. Thank you Foxfield Veterinary Services!

Used to bring my cat here when I first got him, until he started having an ear problem. I brought him in for a check up becuase he had ear mites in the past, and I was shocked when I was told that my cat had a polyp in his ear. When the vet (April) tried to charge me for a second set of ear drops (the first one she prescibed didn't work), and I had to decline at the time becuase I was 21 and didn't have enough money. To which she repiled "Are you saving up for this honey?.. because surgery costs can be from 3-5,000 dollars". First of all, what an incredibly rude thing to say, second of all, I got a second opinion at a different vet. My new vet asked if Foxfield even tested the discharge in his ear because -get this- there was no polyp!! Just a build up of yeast in his ear, they prescribed him an anti-biotic, and he has been fine ever since! So I just want to say thank you to April, for leading me to my new vet. I make sure I tell everyone NOT to go here, very rude and money hungry.

I have been going to Foxfield since they took over the practice. I never had any problem getting an appointment until now. My dog constantly gets ear infections. When I called earlier this week I was told they were all booked up until May. They then went on to say “ we suggest you contact another vet and when would you like to pick up your medical records”. I’m taking this as a subtle sign to find a new vet, we don’t want your business anymore. So, off to a new vet that really cares about their clients.

My husband and I had moved to Exton and we needed to find a new vet close by for our cat and this one fit the bill. We found that this vet has helped us immensely with the few times we have gone. Since our cat has gotten into his elder years, he has been struggling on and off with a very sensitive stomach and a lack of desire to eat (very picky). A few months back, we were getting very desperate as it was getting worse for him, but with the help of Foxfield, we finally were recommended him a food that not only eased his stomach issues, but gave him a great motivation to eat again. It gives me great joy to see him eat everything in his bowl without hesitation. Just wanted to thank Foxfield for getting our boy back in the right direction!
