Cancels insurance for no reason!
Sonnet started off very affordable. After some time however, it went up by $300/M for various rate increases, including no fault accidents… I now pay $500/m. I applied a student alumni group discount and it disappeared off my account next payment. Then I got canceled. They claimed I didn’t pay, and when I called they said it was a “glitch in the system” causing the payment not to register/confirm. Just when I thought everything was better, I get a letter (2 months later) in the mail saying my car is going to be taken back because I broke contract by having insurance cancelled! (Ever try to get insurance from another company after showing you’ve had a cancellation on file!?!) … so, now I have to call my car company. They tell me that in March, 2M ago, sonnet sent a registered letter to BMW saying I didn’t pay and I lost insurance…if I don’t prove otherwise I LOSE MY CAR. So I call sonnet and the “hero” tells me he can send me a letter confirming insurance and I can take it to bmw and I can run around. I demand he undo whatever they did because it wasn’t my fault, have some accountability and don’t put this on me. HE TOLD ME I RUINED HIS DAY!!! As if my day was perfect and that’s why I was calling lol it is still up to me FYI. I have to do all the running around…. I’ll be canceling this insurance company as soon as my contract is up!! I only wish I had looked up insurance now and gone ahead with their “cancelation”….but they already have my money so I can’t!!! They have suckered me in so I can’t go anywhere else! Including showing cancellations on my file!! Huge scam site!!!!! Don’t trust them! I know the low price is a huge motivator … but it DOES come back to bite you!!!! I pay $500/M for this treatment! lol
This company started off by being the cheapest option for me. I was happy. A year later when I had to renew my policy, prices jumped from $3500 a year to $7000 a year. After editing my policy I got it down to around $5000 a year. Now the website will not allow me to get full coverage on my main vehicle. I edit policy to select collision and comprehensive and that all works until I update my policy. Then it’s back to where I was. As soon as my policy is over, I’ll be switching back to a more trustable company unless they can call me up and fix things properly.
Hi. This was my first time getting renter’s insurance. And it could not have been easier. Other companies wanted to talk directly to me but with Sonnet, everything was done online. They walk you through it. It was simple. And on top of that, Sonnet had the lowest price.
At first Sonnet was great. We own multiple rental properties and everything worked great. Today I received an email saying that they can't renew one of my policies and in chatting with Bret online this morning I was told that the can't tell me whether or not they will renew my other policies as well. I was told that the underwriters simply chose to not renew the policy. This if fine but they wouldn't tell me why and more importantly they wouldn't tell me if my other policies will be renewed either (all at different dates in the future). Unfortunately this means moving all of our policies out of Sonnet now because I wasn't permitted to speak with someone. I asked Bret a number of times to speak to someone and was simply given standard lines of that isn't possible. It is Sonnet's choice on whether or not to renew rental polices but as a purchaser I would expect some courtesy to tell me if they are simply getting out of this type of insurance or not. That helps me decide what to do. It was a great interface and experience, just not respectful unfortunately of basic questions and when you do want to speak with someone you're not able to (unless you're buying a policy).
first I bought auto insurance which charged me about $350 upfront for the premium. then I wanted to add home insurance which then charged me another $140 for that premium and it was like pulling teeth trying to get someone to tell me how much I saved once I added a second policy. now I'm wishing that I would have went with Costco because not only are they cheaper for car insurance but I'm sure I wouldnt have this much issues when trying to get information on my policy
