Nationwide | Pet Insurance Review

Although Nationwide (formerly Vpi) helped out with the bills, the initially declined a couple claims for reasons that were not correct. Our pup had chronic diarrhea and they ran several tests including giardia. This was just just one of several test to triple out the problem. NATIONWIDE covers e. r. Visits, but cited this as not a covered visit because they don't cover Giardia. In other words they found 1/2 a reason to decline a whole claim. Same with her tooth. E. R visit for a broken tooth, main visit was for broken tooth, they just cleaned the rest of her teeth while she was under (Which I knew wasn't covered but I was paying for) and declined the whole e. R. Visit. I had to fight and explain to them to stop assuming as both visits were e. R. Visits. Vpi was never like this and they didn't have specific limits for each specific injury or situation. I miss them. :(

Nationwide has been a lifesaver since I decided to get it 3 years ago. I have 3 chihuahuas and this past month was unreal. All 3 had something major happen within days of each other, 2 required major surgery 2 of the bills were just about completely covered and one unfortunately is a 2nd surgery on the same area so pre existing but I’m still thankful for what was covered. Without this insurance I would have maxed out 3 credit cards. If only my insurance was so good

We adopted a puppy (terrier mix) from a rescue. I researched online and decided to sign up for Nationwide on the Wellness Plan. Later on, we found out our dog had a condition that required expensive surgery. I submitted the claim and it took about 1+ month for review (after our deductible, submitting history record). Finally, we received news surgery is covered by our policy and we received reimbursement and are so relieved!

Started out with VPI approximately 20 years ago. I now have both the dog & cat insured. I tell everyone, if you have pets get this insurance. The professionalism, caring, & knowledge are something which is very difficult to find now. Thanks
