Major Price hike

I have always been happy with nationwide pet insurance. My chief concern with this insurance is that my payment is currently $45 a month and I just received notice that I’m being increased to $70 a month. My policy is up for renewal in January and that seems steep for 3 1/2 -year-old toy golden doodle weighing in at 12 pounds. My dog has IBD, but with her medication she seems healthier. Unsure of what to do upon my renewal. I am a loyal customer & was shocked by this hefty increase in the cost of my pet insurance.

Overall good experience

Overall good experience. Would like updates when a claim is submitted & during the claim review processor. Would also like to be able to pull up past claims on the app.

Happy with my choice in pet insurance!

I am a new puppy mom and this is my first experience with pet insurance and so far so good. Submitting a claim was very easy and the automated reimbursement option made it easy to get the funds deposited into my account. Very happy I chose Nationwide so far.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
