Happy I decided to get insurance for my dog

I appreciate the security that comes with knowing unexpected expenses will be covered by Nationwide Pet Insurance. We recently discovered a cyst in my dog's tail . Surgery will cost over $1000. I don't have to stress about paying for treatment knowing that I will be reimbursed by Nationwide.

very pleased with how easy it is to submit claims and get reimbursed. Fairly expensive but worth it at least in this stage of my dogs life.

Misdiagnosis

Nationwide states that my dog has a pre-existing condition which is not true. Every time he’s had gastro/stomach/vomiting issues, it’s all been from completely different reasons.

Nationwide Is A Good Value

I have two dogs and know that there are more comprehensive pet care plans but they are inordinately expensive. Nationwide's coverage is more than adequate and a good value.

Must have

Able to save sprite because of nationwide. We have used them for years and it's worth every penny. I never have to decide if I can afford to help my cats

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
