Be patient for your claim to process
I am overall happy with Nationwide. The only problem I have is that the claims take 4 weeks to process. I wish it would be half that time

Convenience of filing claims, coverage allowing for preventative therapies enables us to compete in AKCFieldTrials successfully.
My Labradors Cal 6yrs(outta pocket dbl cruciate ligament repair), Gumbo 2yrs, Laney 4.5yrs, Joy 3.5 yrs, and Omer 1 yr (Jan.21st) are my world. We have 3 with coverage and soon to be 4 K-9 Athletes who travel the U.S. and Canada to compete in AKC/CKC Field Trial events. The NFL of dog sports is tough game. Success in this venue is widely credited by vets to good genetics, healthy/physically sound, and intelligent K-9's. It is a communal belief that without the best healthcare regiments, proper training and conditioning program provided for the K-9 Athlete it is near impossible to achieve a career of Field Trial success. Having a sound K-9 competitor, no hassle healthcare coverage allows me to make quick decisions about therapies/procedures that lengthen the life and career of our K-9's. In turn lessening procedures and rehab recovery times. No longer are the days when my K-9's have to wait for care or procedure because I can not afford it at the time. This peace of mind enables me to enjoy my dogs to the fullest. This why I am truly Thankful for your service and coverage options!!!

I wish my insurance was as good as my dog’s.
I have had our pet insurance since we brought Bella home around six years ago. It has been a lifesaver for us, and it could not be easier to use. Thank you!

Very Good Service
The service handling claims is very good. Some claims seem to take longer than necessary but not a big deal. The electronic fund transfer feature seems to allow the bank to be a 3rd party in the transfer - bad news. Why not have ACH transfers be automatic as elsewhere. As the pets age the policy prices become very big but that is probably industry follow. Bottom line I have used VPI for many years, over 10 years, for at least 3 dogs. That speaks to my recommendation.

I’m glad I have Nationwide
I was originally with VPI who was bought by Nationnwide. In comparison with other pet insurance I went with the better insurer - Nationwide.
Monthly Cost
Policies start at approximately $12 per month.
Coverage
Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage.
The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees.
All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.
Payout Limits
Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances.
There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Deductible
Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000.
Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.
Age Limits
No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Other plans may have age restrictions.
Waiting Period
14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months).
Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
