Nationwide Loves Pets
Our Dixie Doodle is a rescue and our first dog in 35 years (since either of us were kids!). So yeah, we probably are overly cautious, but knowing we have Nationwide Pet Insurance makes it a no-brainer for us when we aren’t sure Dixie needs to see a vet or not. 9/10 times she needed the vet, so it is a relief for us. The claim process is very easy and the way we are reimbursed directly into our bank account is even easier!

One year ago my dog was diagnosed with thyroid disease, anemia and being lethargic was a side affect. It has been one year since diagnosed with the disease and she has been stable and back to new with the medicine she is one, for one year she went in to the vet for blood work as needed to make sure she was where she needed to be, and she was. One year later she came down with an auto immune disease, which also has the side effects of being anemic and lethargic. Nationwide is trying to say that her anemia and being lethargic from an ENTIRE YEAR AGO WITH AN ENTIRE DIFFERENT DISEASE is related and they will not cover her new disease because of it. I have PROOF of blood work and had the doctor call and tell them it is two separate cases and they still do not want to cover me. What is the point of insurance if you have to jump through hoops and you pay them to protect you and they DON'T!

All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.
Payout Limits
Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances.
There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Deductible
Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000.
Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.
Age Limits
No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Other plans may have age restrictions.
Waiting Period
14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months).
Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
