Need to do a better job looking at the claims. Denied a claim when my dog didn’t have any pre-existing condition.

Said my claim was preexisting even though it was diagnosed about 4 weeks before we had the surgery. I had coverage for over 6 months. I called and they reopened and and approved it. However, they still didn't approve everything and the invoice amount dropped from the original. Felt like they purposely denied it to see if I would even call and now they still paid less making me have to call again.

Grateful for the quick turnaround time for refunds. Although, I thought we would’ve received a greater amount of refund given the amount we pay monthly. For example—We pay $120/month for our Bernese Mountain dog. For every $250 vet bill we only receive about $100 back. It’s almost not worth the coverage. We like to have pet insurance for the peace of mind.
