Overall decent

Overall, this has been a decent policy for my pet. However, I take issue with things they say they’d cover and don’t, such as specific meds prescribed to treat issues, but because they are considered preventative meds they were denied this year. Frustrating! I also take significant issue with the policy price increase of 125% first year into year two. I expected an increase, but not that big of a jump. Overall, it gets the job done for catastrophic events, which is why I have the insurance, so for that I’m satisfied.

Renewal premium increased…

Renewal premium increased significantly. My dog is mixed breed, no health problems and no claims submitted in our first year.

Good insurance & easy to deal with.

I bought insurance hoping that I would never need it, but life did not work out that way. My 10 month old golden retriever had an incident where he broke his leg. On top of this stress, our region of the US had an ice storm that left vet offices closed and his surgery was postponed by over a week. Figo was so easy to work with to submit his many vet bills (surgery, follow up x-rays, and physical therapy), and the reimbursement payments came quickly. In addition to the basics of pet insurance, Figo offers messaging with veterinarians through the app which provided relief when our vets couldn't get into their offices and I had questions about how to keep my puppy calm with his injuries.

Monthly Cost

$9 to $135 on average depending on chosen plan.

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80%, 90% or 100% after your deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$100, $250, $500, $750, $1,000 or $1,500 annually. Deductibles offered depend on pet’s age and location.

Age Limits

Must be 8 weeks or older to enroll. No upper age limits apply.

Waiting Period

1-day for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, 6 months for hip dysplasia and orthopedic conditions. (Both hip dysplasia and orthopedic condition waiting periods can be waived by having exam/waiver form completed by veterinarian)

Exclusions

Curable pre-existing conditions may be eligible for coverage if symptom free for 12 months Conditions arising from a repetitive and specific activity, eg. Ingestion foreign object, ear infection caused by water, snake bites, etc. – excluded after 3 occurrences We now have a wellness option We have a diminishing deductible Copay & deductible waived for emergency life-saving treatment (in the case of an accident, not illness)
