We chose Gentle Journey due to their transparency with pricing on their website which helped make a difficult decision a little easier. When Dr. Palmer came to our home, he treated our dog with incredible kindness and respect. He made sure our big boy was comfortable and provided us all the time needed to say goodbye. I had to somewhat suddenly make a decision regarding my best friend's end of life care when my sweet Missy's health started to deteriorate rapidly. Her spark and personality were with her until the very end, which almost made it harder to decide to put her down. When Dr. Palmer came to our home and told us that she likely would have only had days left without intervention, it brought me a very painful peace, knowing I was doing what was best for her, even though I didn't want to. How he handled her and my family during those moments made me feel as though he had been part of her care for years. It's only been 2 months since her passing and I miss her with ever fiber of my being. We spent 17.5 years together from when she was only 8 weeks old. She's been with me through everything and no one will ever replace her. The least I could give her was a calm and loving end, and I'm forever grateful for having that with her.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have met Dr. Palmer. It meant the world to my sister and me that he was able to help our beloved whippet Truman pass away peacefully, surrounded by love in the safety of our own home. Dr. Palmer provided compassionate care to Truman and to both of us during such a difficult time. I deeply appreciate how long he stayed to talk with us, genuinely taking the time to learn about Truman and our family. He gave Truman pain medicine to help him relax completely while we said our final goodbyes. Dr. Palmer is an exceptionally caring and dedicated veterinarian, and we cannot thank him enough. We had such a wonderful experience during one of the hardest moments our family has faced. The entire team was incredibly patient, kind, and compassionate from beginning to end. They gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye and never made us feel rushed. They treated our sweet pet with so much dignity and respect, and their gentle, calming presence brought us a great deal of comfort. Being able to say goodbye at home, where our pet felt safe and loved, made an incredibly difficult day just a little easier. We are so grateful for the empathy and care they showed our family. I can’t recommend them enough to anyone facing this heartbreaking decision.

This is more than just a service. Having the ability to not rush to an appointment during a stressful, heartbreaking time doesn't have words. Comfort to both the pet and owner in a familiar place to say goodbye is just beyond words. Wanting to know the story of you and your pet before that last breath calms you so it's not as impactful. I'll never say goodbye to a dog in any other way, now that I know that this is possible and the most comforting way possible. Thank you for the comfort you provided to both Sam and I.
