How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Greenfield Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I took my cat here for a check up, they did a physical exam on him with me in the room and said he looked healthy and perfectly fine, but they’d need to take him in the back for a blood sample and a urine test. I explained to the woman that in the past two years we’ve had two cats pass away unexpectedly and both times were incredibly traumatic for our family, so I just wanted to get my cat checked out to easy worry. When they brought him back in the room with me, he started screaming and collapsed. He laid there, barely moving, open mouth panting at an incredibly increased rate. They put him on oxygen and gave him some kind of injection, then just basically told me to wait and he’d be fine. The woman left the room. After about 10 minutes he stood up and started freaking out and biting his leg, lost control of his bladder and bowel. I was yelling for help, and the woman came in and started chastising me for screaming. She forced him to lay back down and told me I needed to take him to an emergency vet because they couldn’t help and didn’t know what was wrong. They completely neglected to mention how bad open mouth breathing is for cats. They didn’t act concerned whatsoever. They wouldn’t tell me what happened when they took him in the back room, when I asked she just immediately denied that there was any possible chance something could have went wrong. They told me I needed to leave because they couldn’t help, and still had the gull to charge me $95 when they did NOTHING. They told me they wouldn’t even run the blood they took from him. The ONLY advice she gave me for him was to keep the air on “full blast” in the car to help him breathe. We drove to Hilliard to a MedVet that they recommended, the staff there IMMEDIATELY took him back saying it was VERY bad that he was breathing through his mouth. We spent $1,500 for them to tell us there was nothing they could do because he was exposed to something in the first vets office that caused a severe immune response. He was hypothermic because the first vet told us to keep the air on him. My cat, who was otherwise healthy when I took him to this vet, suddenly died because he was exposed to something when they took him into the back. I don’t know what they did to him, and I don’t know what he was exposed to. But because of their carelessness, and their absolute lack of knowledge, my family is heartbroken and grieving when this should have been just a regular check up. I believe the only person I even spoke with at this vets office was a vet tech, and not the actual veterinarian. They had absolutely zero concern or compassion for me or my cat, and treated me like they couldn’t send me out the door fast enough- yet kept me in the office for over an hour telling me he was “just stressed” and “he’d be fine.” I can’t help but wonder if they would have taken everything more seriously, if I could have gotten him to MedVet sooner and he’d still be alive. I will absolutely never return to this vet and would not recommend it to anyone.

Awesome Dr. and staff. My dog had heartworms. They treated him successfully and I couldn't have asked for better care.

Amazing place they do a great job with all my animals. i unfortunately had to put my dog to sleep an allow him to cross the rainbow bridge and the staff was amazing..He had issues walking an was a bigger dog they came to my vehicle an done everything they could to make the process as easy as they could for the situation.. They kept him very comfortable an with him being comfortable through the whole process with him being comfortable made it a little easier on all of us in a very stressful an high emotional situation.. The new vet was amazing an gave us plenty of time to say our good byes an didn't rush through the inevitable.. She allowed much time an every time she was going to do the next step she explained an made sure we were ready to continue to the next step before doing anything.. i personally thank each person who helped that day for making it less stressful an thank you for being so patient and understanding of the situation an for not just rushing through like it was just another animal an another day thank you for making us feel like the only people and pet that mattered at that time thank you for being unique... please stay that way an don't lose that because it really helped us on that day.

The staff and the vet treated our dog respectfully and compassionately, addressing and resolving our pet's issue. The vet also provided instructions and medication for home care. The charges for the services were reasonable.
