How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Holy Family Vet
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We love Holy Family! We have had two babies (dog) seen there. We had to have an almost 15 year old Great Pyrenees put down last week. They were extremely compassionate, helpful and caring! That sort of process is not easy for anyone, including the staff. They held my Family’s hand with care through all of it. Our other little baby was seen today in their new beautiful office. The new office is absolutely beautiful, spacious and clean. I highly recommend Holy Family for all of your veterinarian needs!!!

I had such a wonderful experience bringing my dog Linda in for her vaccines and license. The entire team was incredibly kind, playful, and genuinely caring. They made both of us feel so comfortable from the moment we walked in. You can truly tell they love what they do and care deeply about the animals they treat. Linda was relaxed and happy the whole time, which means everything to me. Thank you all for your warmth, patience, and amazing service—I’m so grateful we found this place. Highly recommend this hospital and its lovely staff!

I would like to start with HOLY FAMILY VET and their staff saved my dog’s life. I have had my 11 year old German Shepherd, Bruce Wayne, since he was 10 weeks old. During the week of Christmas he suddenly started feeling bad. He wouldn’t eat or go to the bathroom. After a couple days we realized something was wrong. Jan 1 we took him to an emergency vet in Jupiter. The prices were astronomical so we were unable to do more than a $160 visual inspection. We ended up getting an appointment at the nonprofit, Paws to Help. They did an Xray and saw something was lodged in Bruce’s small intestine. They referred us to HOLY FAMILY VET for next steps. After going over options such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and surgery we decided to do the “exploratory surgery.” This was not an easy decision to come to, I cried and cried, but ultimately I trusted the vet and staff with my dog’s life. They did the surgery the same day and found an intact cat toy with a bell on it. (Bruce had swallowed it whole) It’s been two weeks since the surgery. Bruce had his stitches removed and seems back to normal. My family, Bruce, and I are so thankful for the vet and all the staff. They truly cared about Bruce and his well-being. THANK YOU EVERYONE AT HOLY FAMILY VET. We appreciate you all so much.

I've been bringing my little doggies to this place since I've had them. Everyone is nice and friendly and helpful. Last week I took one of my little doggies in for a rash. They didn't know what it was. The vet gave him an injection, and was supposed to prescribe an antibiotic but 'forgot" to! Well, the rash got worse. Now, I know I'm not a doctor, but I'm a mom of five, meaning lots of experience with skin rashes! I've been in the medical field all my life, and this looked like a simple contact dermatitis type issue. Well, I brought him back yesterday, another office visit payment! When I told them I didn't want to have to pay for another office visit because I had just been in there last week for the same thing! Well, they reduced the price $20, but I still had to pay $65 dollars for another office visit! (The receipt stated they gave me a $20 good customer discount!)They still didn't know what was going on, but she "remembered" to give me the antibiotics and even offered to clip his nails. I thought that was really nice and I said, "Okay, of course! Thank you. I appreciate you." When I got to the car and looked at the receipt I found that I had paid $25 to have his nails clipped! I was not informed of the price beforehand. I think they were very dishonest an underhanded to do it without informing me of the price. When I called back to discuss this with the receptionist, she very glibly said, "Oh no! We charge for everything! Nothing's free here!" I feel extremely offended, and I will definitely be changing veterinarians! Also, I had a voucher from the city for low-cost spay and neuter service for my little male dog. Well it still cost me $250!

Our end-of-life experience with Holy Family Vet was devastating. To be clear, we believe Dr. O’Connor is a good man and a great veterinarian and thank him personally for his compassion in handling Gomez’s treatment while he was alive. However, there are serious issues with his staff and the level of oversight and accountability within the clinic. What compounded our grief was the Veterinary Tech’s inexcusable NEGLIGENCE in handling Gomez’s remains. We paid for private cremation and explained — multiple times — that we had kept Gomez’s twin brother Pugsly’s ashes for three years so that they could be buried together. We were fortunate to have Gomez in our lives for 13 years. It was deeply important to our family and part of our grieving process. After two weeks of waiting to have Gomez returned back to us, we found it strange after calling several times that we could not get a straight answer on when we were going to receive his remains. Finally, after speaking with Yvonne, she told us “Gomez is gone”. The veterinary technician signed off on mass cremation and to this day she has yet to apologize to us. Now we are left with Pugsly’s ashes and Gomez’s dog collar. This was not a minor paperwork error — it was a complete failure to honor our explicit wishes and the trust we placed in them during one of the most vulnerable moments of our lives. The fact that this was mishandled shows a profound lack of care, communication, and accountability from the veterinary techs. Even when our family was in the back room saying our last goodbye’s to Gomez before they took his body, there were two veterinary tech’s in the room near us, laughing and carrying on. It felt shockingly insensitive. Gomez deserved better. So did we.
