How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Atlas Pet Clinic
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Experience
Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.
Emergency Care Procedures
It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.
Communication Preferences
Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.
Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.
Facility Tour

We have been coming to Atlas for both of our dogs for years. We have been happy with the care and attention. What we do not like is that unless you sign a form before your dog is checked then you must pay beforehand. We have never not paid and this new process makes me feel like a person who does not pay our bills. It is dehumanizing to be treated as such. We know this place is more expensive than others but we like the care. We also get inundated with texts, emails, and reminders from their app about our appointments. We have never missed one or have been late. We do not need this heightened level of announcements, I don’t think anyone does. Again, we greatly appreciate the care and service that we receive here for our two dogs but for the love of all things holy, don’t treat us as sub creatures.

Just brought my cat in today, 7/20/2026. I stopped by earlier in the day and they gave me some meds to help my cat be calm for transport and his visit. Dr. Cuevas was very nice and took care of us and DAKOTA was awesome as well, she was very kind and helpful to us! Thank you all!

Our first visit to this office was, unfortunately, to say goodbye to our 15-year-old sweetheart. It was an incredibly difficult moment for our family. There was a small hiccup at the beginning, but the team quickly accommodated us, and from that point on, they were nothing short of exceptional. Their empathy, kindness, and genuine care meant more to us than we can express. I had every intention of writing a glowing review after that experience—but then today, we received a postcard from them. Inside was the sweetest message, along with our Roxy’s paw print. It was something I had quietly regretted not doing myself, and to have it gifted to us so thoughtfully was incredibly touching. If I was already thankful and impressed before, this gesture truly blew me away. We will never forget the compassion they showed us during such a painful time.

I absolutely adore the staff at Atlas Pet Clinic! Dr. Acevedo and everyone take such great care of my sweet dog Sparta, and they all tell me how much they love him! I first brought him here because he was having some unknown pain and our old vet couldn’t get him in and no other vets that I called could take him that day either. It wasn’t an emergency so I didn’t want to take him to an emergency vet, but I did want him looked at asap. When I called Atlas, they didn’t have openings either but they checked with the vet and she said to bring him in and they’d squeeze him in. The rest is history! They always prioritize the health of my dog and I am so grateful for the care we receive here. I highly recommend them!

I can't say enough positive things about this office. All staff and vets are wonderful and always meet us where we are at. Dr. Acevedo has a special place in my heart. She has gone above and beyond to make sure our Ëa is doing well even during the palliative stage of her care.
