Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

What a pleasure it was for my fur kids to see Dr. Madsen. He felt almost like family from the moment his smile walked in and greeted my doggo. He is an intelligent, kind, and such a caring man than knows his stuff. I can’t say enough good things about him. He saw both my dogs and my cat. My animals could pick up on his loving and confident vibe as I did. He is professional and had answers no other vets have had. He is a great listener, and so knowledgeable with answers. The facility is clean and organized. I have great trust they are in great hands there. I’m so glad I tried this facility out. I left feeling happy and confident my animals had great care! We will be back regularly!

Dr. Steiner and her Staff are so friendly, caring, compassionate & knowledgeable. We bring our dog Kenosha and our 2 cats Friskie & Yuki to Rampart Range and are very satisfied with the service we always get there. Friskie is not a friendly boy when he has to be seen by the Dr but they handle him so nice, gently and understanding, we truly appreciate the love and patience they show toward our pet(s) in every situation. We highly recommend Rampart Range to anyone looking for a Vet in Teller County.

I had a normal aging dog, and they systematically killed my dog. Let me give you the the run down. We moved to Woodland Park In November of 2025. Our dog developed what we thought to be a hack or cough similar to an allergy. She also developed an eye infection. During our first visit, we mentioned her hack and the eye. We did numerous initial appointments, nail trims, anal glands, physicals, shots, etc. Following that: They stated they could only treat the eye and ignored treating the "hack" stating, one symptom at a time. This was a weekend Saturday emergency appointment. Moving forward, brought her in again, eye problem and hack, still didn't address her hacking when she would stand, Now into second medicine, another eye drop, nothing to treat other infection. She also asked for us to obtain meds at 1-800-pet meds which he paid for, and she never filled. 3rd visit, a new medicine and, over the counter eye drops, still no treatment for hacking. Eventually fixed her eye after third medication and, a representative even said, "Are you sure you are giving these correctly?" We were also giving her anti-biotics for her eye. 4th visit within 8 months. Saw a different doctor, a male, doctor. Our dog now developed an ear infection, eye is cured, hack still present. He prescribed a steroid shot, after saying our dog's labs and heart and everything is perfectly healthy, also, gave her more anti biotics and cream for ear. 3 weeks later. she is collapsing, breathing at 60 breaths a minute. We go to get an exam and then, the original doctor says, "lets get an x-ray." I stated, I have been asking for that for 9 months." They come back and present an estimate of 500 dollars when my dog is laying there dying. She comes in to, what I assume, is to scold me because, I am very upset about the treatment of my dog, who has served as my mental health companion. I stop her and say, don't. You guys did this. I have asked over and over again and, nothing. You didn't communicate, you gave my dog a steroid and didn't take exams after 9 months. You let me let my dog SUFFER. Her reply was, "How can I make this right by you?" So, the way she made it right, was to waive our exam fee that day, but, allowed us to pay to cremate our dog that day, which was not planned. My family was devastated that we discovered she was allowed to be in this kind of pain after all of the love she gave, my military companion. Fast forward-I did say" How are we suppose to trust you with our other dog who gets dental and you are charging 1700 for (a pug) next week after this treatment?" She had nothing to say. We get a call on 09/29/2026 at 1015 am, a day before our Pug's dental. This has been put off for a few months because, they were booked this summer and, they said, she couldn't get blood work because she needed a shot and it couldn't coincide, etc. etc. SO finally, we are all lined up and, whammo, they cancel the day before and state, "We discussed this and discovered this is also your dog and don't feel comfortable doing this procedure since you don't trust us." They trusted us enough to take MULTIPLE appointments and payments for both animals for 9 months, I am talking thousands of dollars. WH at we got out of it were some nail trims, an allergy shot, a dead PTSD dog, and a last minute cancelation. How nice to tell my wife, that our dog's ashes aren't ready yet but, they are cancelling our other appointment tomorrow. Glad we still have a relationship with our vet of over 10 years in Colorado Springs. We will be notifying the BBB and our attorney of this matter. Recommendation. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY OR, TRUST YOUR ANIMALS THERE AT ALL.

Thank you Rampart Range Vet Hospital!! I left an online msg at 10.30pm and was contacted first thing in am to bring my beloved friend into care in the morning. The reception and registration was seamless. Five stars really isn’t enough for the exceptional care we received - I wish human health care services were as genuine and compassionate (and let’s say it affordable!!) - veterinarians (and their assistants) do a true vocation of passion - these people have it, look no further- give them a call whatever your circumstances, this place will treat you right! We will be back in our times of need XXO, Binx

I highly recommend Dr. Steiner and her staff in every way. Their care and compassion during the final care of my 15 year old doggo was outstanding. They were kind, thoughtful, and loving. Even when picking up her ashes, their care was amazing. Thank you for taking precious care of my precious doggo.
