This Saturday morning, our newly adopted dog, Duncan, somehow swallowed one of my dry fly fishing hooks on our way out to go fishing…! Our family went into full panic mode. We rushed Duncan to the new Mountain Top Veterinary Clinic, where Dr. Aaron Wilson and Michelle took incredible care of Duncan (and by the outcome of it, our family too!). We were preparing ourselves for the possibility of surgery so the hook doesn’t get snagged in his intestines, but by God’s grace, they safely induced vomiting, and it worked! Duncan brought the hook up an hour or so later before it could cause any serious damage. Watching Ruthie and Micah this morning was something I’ll never forget. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them pray so hard at this age. They were convinced they were going to lose their new puppy, and seeing the smiles on their faces when Duncan was okay was priceless. It reminded me of how much we all loved our childhood pets and what a gift they truly are. I’m grateful the Lord used this situation to teach our kids that when life feels out of our control, our first response should be prayer 🙏🏼! A huge thank you to Dr. Aaron Wilson, Michelle, and the entire team at Mountain Top Veterinary Clinic for the compassionate care they showed our family today.
