What’s included in adoro coverage?

Our coverage focuses on the things pets are most likely to need care for: injuries, illnesses, and the treatments your vet recommends to get them back on their paws. We’ve designed it to be comprehensive enough to matter without adding fluff you’ll never use. And we offer optional wellness coverage to help with routine care.

What’s not covered?

Think of us as backup for the unplanned, not the predictable. Here’s what isn’t covered: Pre-existing conditions (things you already know about before your coverage begins) Routine care that you can budget for, like vaccines or spay/neuter (unless you add a wellness plan). Things not related to the diagnosis or treatment of a condition (like grooming, boarding, and cosmetic procedures) Behavioral-related expenses, like costs for pet aggression or training Non-veterinary costs, like taxes & fees Other exclusions may apply. When will my coverage begin and what changes can I make after I enroll?

Your policy is effective 2 days after you enroll at 12:01 am. There is a 12 day waiting period for illnesses (including torn knee ligaments). In the first 30 days, you can adjust your payout %, deductible, or annual limit – as long as your pet hasn’t gotten sick or hurt during that time. Changes kick in on your next billing date. After 30 days, you can still raise your deductible (up until you reach your deductible lock), but your payout percentage and annual limit cannot be changed. In the first 30 days you can add a wellness plan. After that, wellness can be added or removed at your policy anniversary date.

Are pre-existing conditions covered?

No, like most pet insurance plans, we can’t cover issues that started before your coverage began. We are focused on the unexpected, so enrolling a puppy or kitten is the best experience.

Can my policy be canceled if my pet gets sick or hurt?

No. We will never cancel your policy because of claims you file.

Policy

Monthly Cost

Plan costs depend on your choices, as well as pet breed, age and where you live.

Coverage

Accident and illness coverage, with two wellness optional choices. Exam fees and rehab coverage included in every policy (not an add-on). Payout percentages range from 50% – 85%.

Payout Limits

A range of choices between $3,000 and unlimited (annual). There are no lifetime limits.

Deductible

Range from $200 to $1,000 (annual).

Age Limits

At least 7 weeks old to enroll (and 14 years or younger). Once the pet is enrolled they may stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

0 days for accidents and 12 days for illnesses after the policy becomes effective. Unlike some providers, adoro does not have any extended waiting periods for orthopedic issues (like torn cruciate ligaments).

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions (anything your pet had before your coverage began);
Routine care you can plan for, like vaccines or spay/neuter (unless you add wellness coverage);
Non-treatment costs (like grooming, boarding, food or cosmetic procedures);
Behavioral-related expenses like costs for pet aggression or training;
