Our experience with the Blue pearl here in the corner of hilltop and Lumsden, Brandon FL, was absolutely fabulous. We visited several times due to the failing health of our Cairn terrier, Lola an every single visit was not only pleasant but professional. Dr Schneck, Karin, and Ashley along with the rest of the Team, was so helpful and caring. This Veterinary practice has the absolute greatest team. We were offer great advice, with supporting evidence, and true human touch. We highly recommend this wonderful practice.

We've had to bring our 2 year old St Bernard in twice in the last month for seizures and have had good experiences both times but especially our last visit. His first visit was for a first seizure, we were very worried and the vet was very kind and understanding. My only wish was that they would have discussed emergency medication options just in case of a 2nd seizure. He had a severe 8 minute seizure shortly after we got home and we had no way to stop it. We saw our regular vet right after and he was started on meds. I ended up needing to call Blue Pearl that night because he had a rare adverse reaction to one of the meds our vet prescribed. Tate couldn't stand and we were unable to get him in the car to bring him in but the vet spoke with me personally and was very helpful. Our last visit was really great, we had to bring Tate in for treatment to stop a cluster seizure episode as his emergency meds at home didn't work. They were knowledgeable about epilepsy, did a great job giving him emergency medications to stop the seizures and added a second daily medication for better control long term. I really wish I could remember our vet techs name, he was absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately we couldn't afford everything they reccomended but they were very understanding of our situation and created a treatment plan with the most important things to stabilize him with the amount of money we had. We hope we never have to come back but know if we do that Tate will be in good hands.

Our first experience with them was several years ago, when we found a badly injured duck in a Publix parking lot. Where I’m from in upstate New York, situations like that are usually handled by the police, who decide whether it’s a wildlife issue or if the animal needs to be euthanized. Down here, it was different. I was referred from one person to another, sent a video, and was ultimately directed to BluePearl. They took the duck in without hesitation. I never found out what happened afterward, but I knew it was in good hands. The second time was with our kitten Abby after her spay. She was clearly in pain and acting completely unlike herself, thrashing in her cage and behaving wildly when we let her out. We were terrified she might hurt herself. BluePearl treated her and gave her medication to help her settle, and within a few days she was back to her normal self. Our most recent visit was the hardest. We brought our sweet boy Thor in because we thought he might be constipated. He had been hiding for a few days, and at first I thought it might be a territory issue with another cat. But when I noticed he was scratching, not going to the bathroom, and starting to look thinner, I knew something was wrong. After they weighed him, we realized he had lost a couple of pounds, which was hard to notice at first because he was such a big boy. Sadly, they found a large tumor in his abdomen. We were devastated. The doctor explained everything clearly and compassionately, including that an enema might not even be safe for him. I knew then that I didn’t want him to suffer. One of the hardest parts has been wondering how long he was in pain, but the doctor reassured us that cats are incredibly good at hiding these things. When it came time to say goodbye, the team treated Thor with so much dignity and care. I asked multiple times if it would be painful, and they gently reassured us that he would go peacefully. They even prepared us for things like his tongue possibly coming out, which helped us feel more ready in that moment. After he passed, they handled everything with such respect. They placed him carefully in a small box and brought him out privately through the back so we could take him home. That meant so much to us. We are very introverted, and being able to say goodbye in our own space, along with our other cats, gave us a kind of closure we really needed. Our youngest cat, who we always said was “his wife,” took it especially hard. She would cuddle and groom him when he was alive. When we brought him home, she placed her paw on him a few times, waiting for a response, and then just laid beside him. It was heartbreaking, but I truly believe it helped them understand and say goodbye. We were able to take a lock of his fur, a couple of whiskers, and place some of his favorite things with him, including his blanket and toy. We laid him to rest out in the backyard close to our bedroom, as near as we could, because he always slept at the foot of our bed in his little pink cat bed. Thank you for taking such gentle care of our sweet boy, and for the card you sent. He will be forever missed. My only regret is not realizing sooner, but I take comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain.

Dr. Schneck was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, honest, compassionate, and kind. Both my spouse and I immediately remarked how clear it was that he is there for all the right reasons immediately upon leaving, despite devastatingly bad news regarding our fur baby, so you know he was outstanding . The tech was also very kind and helpful. I’m sorry that we forget her name. To be totally honest with good intentions toward all in writing this, we felt another vet there, although also seeming to be quite intelligent, thorough, and skilled, could have spent more time initially discussing a pretty informative xray we brought with us from another place first and the next logical test they should give afterward that could be performed at BP first, rather than discussing what seemed like a lot of other additional tests (along with the next logical one) at once before I think that other vet even got to look at the other xray. Given the old age of our dog and the reality of very grim outcomes being very, very likely, we felt a more realistic set of discussed scenarios should have included euthanasia and a clear lack of need for extra testing beyond the ultrasound . Blue Pearl is exceptional so I’m being very honest knowing this should not hurt their business. It should not hurt it at all because honestly I think they are the total gold standard. I recommend them without reservation. I think feedback like this will help them to get better and that all of their vets are amazing and want to always improve . We all can up our games. I also want analytical patients to not be afraid to ask emotionally hard questions and to know that even top notch professionals’ are part of a collaboration with caring fur parents. Again, Dr. Schneck we thought got every single thing perfectly right and we are EXTREMELY in debt to him for his absolute skill, professionalism, and compassion.

I cannot say enough praises about the care and after-care my puppy and i received from blue pearl brandon team. My puppy was brought in for emergency surgery. He was critical state. They got him in and had surgery a few hours after admission. Unfortunately my puppy did not survive after 48 hours post op. The empathy that the staff showed me was incredible to say the least. They didnt care how often we visited or called to check up on him. With his critical condition and knowing he may not make it his second night they allowed me to stay with him at the back and just hold him. I got to hold my baby for a few hours. Im so appreciative and grateful for that time spent with him. Thank you all for your kindness during a difficult time. Thank you also for the card. I’ll forever be grateful
