How to Save Money at Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers - Bonita Springs, FL

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

There are no words that could truly express how grateful I am to the entire team at Fetch. On March 24, we learned that my 11-year-old dog, Kobe, had a large mass in his abdomen. We were told that euthanasia was the recommended option, but with his birthday just a week away, I couldn’t let him go without giving him a fighting chance. We came to Fetch on March 27, where they carefully explained his diagnosis and helped us create the best treatment plan possible. From the very beginning, they treated Kobe like family. I was amazed because Kobe had always hated going to the vet, yet he genuinely loved everyone at Fetch. No matter how many times I called or how many questions I asked, every doctor, technician, and staff member responded with patience, kindness, and compassion. They made me feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way. They understood that Kobe wasn’t just a pet…he was family. Because of their care, we were given something priceless: more time together. Kobe peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge on July 1, surrounded by the love of his family. It has taken me three weeks to write this because the grief is still incredibly heavy. While I wish he could have stayed with us forever, I will always be grateful that Fetch gave us more time with our boy. Receiving a handwritten sympathy card signed by the entire team brought me to tears. It reminded me that they truly cared about Kobe, not just as a patient, but as an individual they had come to know and love. Thank you for fighting alongside us, for treating Kobe with such love and dignity, and for giving us the greatest gift we could have asked for, more time with our boy. We will be forever grateful.

Not that we're happy that our furbaby has been subjected to cancer, but we're very grateful we were referred to Fetch! From check-in to check-out we were impressed! Franky has a warming personality that makes you feel very welcome! Our visit was very informative and the staff is top notch. And the fact that they don't rush you in and out, but help guide you through every step, and provide much needed answers is amazing! If your furbaby experiences cancer, I would recommend this facility (Bonita location)!

We don't even know how to begin saying how amazing Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinarian is. My boyfriend and I were looking all around the area for a place to take our sweet Chica too and everyone in the area was busy that day. When watching her degressing I pulled up on Google the nearest place to take her too and it was Fetch Specialty and the name says it all. They specialize in bed side manor and pure love. I never write reviews on any company but this facility is a 10 plus facility. They were comforting loving and understanding on how much a pet(child) means too many. The way they reached out to others for cremation and all things that pet parents dont think about they were efficient and caring is undeniable. We recommend all of our pet families to take the time out to reach out to Fetch Specialty. Even after receiving a beautiful cremation package from their affiliates. They personally sent out a hand written card from staff. When returned home today it was in the mail and my boyfriend and I sat in the car and read the card and cried together appreciating the time taken out by each staff member giving their deepest condolences . Thank you so much!
