Spot | Pet Insurance Review

I purchased a puppy from someone off of Facebook. I purchased the platinum coverage from Spot insurance to also cover well visits. I took my puppy to the Vet and uploaded the Vet's note and itemized bill. Spot insurance gave me the run around and DID NOT pay for shots, anal gland expression because of scooting bottom on the floor and 1 Vetadryl (benedryl) for sneezing, runny nose, and scratching herself. I received an email stating Spot ins was requesting more records and I called Spot ins and informed them that this was the first appointment she has had and was questioned as to why she needed bendryl which was a $1.00 charge, and why her anal gland expression was done for $29.95. Customer service at Spot told me they put a note in about my call and I assumed my puppies visit was going towards my deductible at that time. I received another email requesting previous Vet appointment notes and I called again and customer service informed me that I uploaded everything and Spot ins contacted my Vet and they submitted the same information I did and my claim would be flagged for Spot ins to pay and he could see everything and they did not need anything else. I received another email stating they could not process my claim without additional Vet notes which this was the FIRST Vet appointment. I ended up calling for a third time this morning and got no answers and requested Spot ins cancel my policy. I should be fully refunded for the year because I paid up front. It should not be retroactive because Spot ins put me through hell and back!! It took 3 calls and aggravation to get nowhere with Spot insurance. I wish I would have had this knowledge prior to buying my policy.

The ease of submitting a claim via the app. It takes less than 7 minutes and I like the confirmation emails showing receipt. Lastly, receiving my reimbursement checks in the mail and uploading them via my bank app makes life so much simpler. Thank you

I am so pleased with the services offered and provided by Spot Pet Insurance for such a low monthly rate. I especially was fond of the 24/7 vet support through the mobile app. After I submitted my claim, my reimbursement came so quickly via direct deposit! Overall, I recommend Spot Pet Insurance to any pet owner as you never know what can happen with your pet and this insurance can end up saving you thousands of dollars.

My frustrating experience with Spot lasted over two months. After having sent in a claim with no response, I spoke via phone to the only number posted for service regarding the problem with at least two service representatives both of whom offered scripted reasons for the delay. Each said she would follow up on my disappeared claim and return my call. I heard back from neither. At that point, I was beyond frustrated and sent in a duplicate claim with a note detailing my experiences. At this point, my communication somehow arrived at the Mother Ship and my claim processed.
