Terrible cancellation process- will try and steal your money
I was with sonnet for 2 years and cancelled due to a better rate with TD. When renewal came it said to cancel BY june 18th so I cancelled june 16th and paid the month of june for insurance. Good thing I screenshotted that I cancelled my insurance, as I got a notice in the mail saying I RENEWED. While the customer service was friendly, It took multiple emails and over a month for them to get back to me. I had to PROVE i had insurance somewhere else. The entire process was ridiculous. After almost 5 weeks it was stated that it was “sorted” and I would receive 147$ refund in 5-10 business days since July’s insurance amount also came out of my account. 3.5 weeks later i only receive 16$ as a refund and they apologized stating the other 131$ was the “short rate cancellation fee” apparently because I cancelled 2 days before the exact day my policy was up - and they also still took my money for July’s insurance. I am still dealing with this issue. I will NEVER recommend Sonnet insurance.
Although I haven’t needed to use the insurance yet, signing up and saving money was spot on. They did everything they said they would and thus far I have no complaints
