Website doesn't work and they charge you anyways

I tried to sign up, got all the welcome emails, etc. Then could not access the website, got an error. Called and was told oh sorry, our bad, apply again. Did, but had no luck getting the darn thing paid, again, website issues. Cancelled and gave up trying. Went with Pets Best. Then out of the blue 8 weeks later, I was charged for both months. Waiting on hold for 45 min+. What a laughable company. I do not recommend them and will never suggest them to any of my clients.

They don’t pay their claims

They don’t pay their claims. They make excuses why they can’t pay the claims until they finally say “well you’re no longer a member so we’re never going to pay your claim now. They waited right up till the last hours of June to request records from a past vet. If you don’t continue paying 80 bucks a month while they keep thinking about things they will refuse to pay for anything at all. They didn’t even pay the wellness visit which I had extra payment on. Very disappointing and I would not recommend it to anybody at all

Disappointed

I researched pet insurances prior to getting our puppy & decided to go with Pumpkin. Even though they were more expensive than others they covered a little more & the reimbursements they said were quick. The first two puppy wellness fees (even though they only cover one) we were reimbursed within 2-3 days from the time I submitted the claims. I submitted the third puppy wellness visit with vaccines on June 22, 2022. It has been over 4 weeks & we have still not been reimbursed. When I spoke with customer service I was told 1, regular visits do not get reimbursed as quick as the wellness claims, & 2 they are doing internal & external updates. Not sure which one it is, but we are extremely disappointed & frustrated with this issue. I’m so sorry I have recommended this insurance to other people.

Thieves & con

Thieves & con artists, they'll sell u an additional "preventative care package" which alleges to include reimbursement for one vax & one annual check up, but if the vet finds anything, even just a mild ear infection then Pumpkin will not reimburse you for that annual check up after you paid extra for that. Also you first claim will process crazy quick but after the "auto renewal" your next claim will take weeks & half denied *** Noticed their reply never actually denied being thieves or con artists, that reply might as well have been in clingon because the words meant nothing. I'll never pay these clowns one more cent, I cancelled that card already 🖕

Monthly Cost

Plans start as low as $30 per month. Prices vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.

Coverage

Every pet is covered by a 90% reimbursement rate to make it easier to say “yes” to the best possible care.

Payout Limits

Annual limits of $10,000, $20,000 or unlimited for dogs and $7,000, $15,000 or unlimited for cats.

Deductible

3 options: $100, $250, $500 and $1000

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

Insurance coverage begins 14 days after your policy begins for all conditions, including knee/ligament issues where some other policies make you wait 6 months for coverage. No waiting periods for preventive care (in fact, depending on when you received the care, you may be eligible for a retroactive refund).

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. However, unlike some other pet insurances, Pumpkin’s plan covers some curable pre-existing conditions if symptom-free for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. For full terms, visit pumpkin.care/insurancepolicy.
