This company does what it says it will and it does it with very nice people helping you

The people I interacted with over the phone. Every one of them was helpful, courteous knowledgeable. I learned the ease of submitting a claim. Prompt return of my money. It was hard to figure out which animal insurance I should get there are so many and I saw good reviews of pumpkin, and my vet recommended them. I can see why I’m very happy with them.

My first and only claim was handled…

My first and only claim was handled quickly and efficiently last summer - this time it is taking over a week, so far, to even be reviewed, approved and paid. The customer service chat with Linda was ended before I was done asking my questions. Have not experienced this with Pumpkin and hope it’s an isolated incident.

Monthly Cost

Plans start as low as $30 per month. Prices vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.

Coverage

Every pet is covered by a 90% reimbursement rate to make it easier to say “yes” to the best possible care.

Payout Limits

Annual limits of $10,000, $20,000 or unlimited for dogs and $7,000, $15,000 or unlimited for cats.

Deductible

3 options: $100, $250, $500 and $1000

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

Insurance coverage begins 14 days after your policy begins for all conditions, including knee/ligament issues where some other policies make you wait 6 months for coverage. No waiting periods for preventive care (in fact, depending on when you received the care, you may be eligible for a retroactive refund).

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. However, unlike some other pet insurances, Pumpkin’s plan covers some curable pre-existing conditions if symptom-free for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. For full terms, visit pumpkin.care/insurancepolicy.
