New puppy policy

I have just signed up for insurance for our dog yesterday so this rating is for the interactions with Monica at Prudent Pet. She has been very knowledgeable and helpful answering all my questions about this policy. I feel this company is one of only a few that offers coverage for heriditary heart problems that may occur later in a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel's life as long as it is not pre-existing. I also like the 24/7 Veterinarian call access when you need to speak to a veterinarian during off hours.. I have not submitted a claim yet. I am hoping my experience with that will be just as good as Monica in the Sales Department.

Personable and Human!

Monica was so helpful! I was browsing for pet insurance since I just got a kitten and it made all the difference to receive a call and discuss the policy and answer my questions. As a college student, I like that the plan is cost effective yet it still covers everything my kitten, Gina, needs!

Andrea from customer service was awesome!

Andrea was awesome! Very professional. I was hesitant about signing up for insurance because of my income but she helped me figure out which plan works for my budget. I'm new to this kind of thing but pleased so far with feeling reassured about my dogs future health, especially if facing any serious health issues. Thanks Andrea! :D

Monthly Cost

Monthly rates start at $10 for Accident only and $16 for Accident & Illness coverage. Those rates vary based on species, age, breed as well as your location.

Coverage

We cover based on the actual vet bill and have options for 90%, 80% or 70% reimbursement.

Payout Limits

We offer limits of $2,500, $5,000, $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 and an unlimited plan.  There are no lifetime limits with any option you choose.

Deductible

Choose a deductible that works best for you and your family, we offer $100, $250 and $500 options.

Age Limits

We have no age limits, but your pet will need to be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

For our accident & illness plans (essential & ultimate), we have a 14-day waiting period. Our accident-only policy only has a 5-day waiting period. There is no waiting period for wellness coverage.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions, cosmetic procedures and breeding costs are not covered by our policies. Optional Wellness Details We have two preventive/wellness plan options. Our basic option costs $9.95/month* and our Prime option costs $24.95/month*. These cover things like wellness exams, dental cleanings, or flea/heartworm prevention. Reimbursement for these is based on a set maximum annual amount. *Correct Jan. 2019
