We didn't give up

Our 8 year old female boxer-pit mix was diagnosed with a rare salivary cancer and given 6-18 months to live. We paid the costs to endure surgery and radiation, and submitted the claim for reimbursement and got a significant amount of the claim covered. It was a big help, and now over a year later she is cancer free!

So glad I have this! Don't delay!

I would recommending buying as soon as you can afford to! It has been a piece of mind and lifted financial burdens when I needed to take my dog to get treatment. You never know when an injury or sickness can happen and it is terrible to have to decide because of finances that treatment would be withheld. I am so grateful that this in available and it reasonable easy to process claims and well worth the premiums.

Nationwide - smartest decision I made

We lost our last wolfhound to cancer and did not have insurance. Our costs for exploratory surgery and consults were over $3,500. Not to mention the anxiety of having to come up with the cash. When we got another wolfhound I was determined to get insurance and chose Nationwide's full plan. Our pup was 8 weeks old when we got her and being a larger breed the premium is more per month but we already knew that costs can get out of hand with a wolfie. She needed surgery to correct a leg injury she sustained. Valgus deformity as a result of the damage to the growth plate. Surgery was $3500 to fix the leg up and plus the cost of several follow up visits with x rays. I think it was over $4500, Nationwide covered everything they promised - 90 percent of all vet bills above the deductible. My girlfriend says getting nationwide is one of the smartest things I did.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
