Coverage good, length of time, not so much.
I was pleased with the overall coverage of our recent claim. However, the communication and length of time it took was much less satisfactory. It was over 6 weeks and I contacted Nationwide myself to check on the claim. In that time, I did not receive any communication regarding the status of the claim.

Convenient
Paying ahead of time is more convenient for me so that when I get my check from Nationwide I'm already done with it. Premiums are taken directly out of my paycheck so there are no bills to keep track of.

easy submission of claims
I am please with the submission of claims and receiving payments. However, both of the coverages are getting too expensiv for me to carry on my own. I asked if i could speak to someone about approximately how much it would cost to have just major medical; i was advised 1. that i had to wait until later in the year closer to the re-enrollment of my dog 2.they could not give me how much it would cost, because by the time my coverage renews, the cost may be different. 3.I was told i would need a new policy. so, my response is I have had this policy since Stryker was a puppy; a NEW POLICY??? REALLY??? I have paid every month for coverage with NO LAPSES. i should NOT need a NEW POLICY, simply a change to the existing policy. 2. I should have been able to at least discuss my OPTIONS with someone in that department, even if i could NOT change it yet. I truly did feel as though i was given the "run-around" and do not particularly care for that; as i have been a good "customer". Other than that, i have no qualms about any claim submission or reimbursement I have received.

So happy we could get the treatment our dog needed without worrying about the cost!
Our very active dog tore a ligament and damaged his knee. He is only 3 years old and if he didn't have surgery he likely would have early onset arthritis, pain and not be able to enjoy running and playing. Thanks to having insurance, we were able to get his leg repaired.
An extra nice touch was getting a "get well" e-mail checking on our dog.

The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees.
All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.
Payout Limits
Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances.
There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Deductible
Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000.
Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.
Age Limits
No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Other plans may have age restrictions.
Waiting Period
14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months).
Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
