Peace of mind generator

Having to take our pet to the ER and being handed a quote for $1200 can be a bit of a shock. It was a big comfort knowing that our pet got the care she needed and that our pet insurance plan was able to help us get the care she needed.

Peace of Mind

I love having healthcare for my girl. It gives me such peace of mind knowing that I can give her the best possible care and not worry as much about the financial part. The claims are fast and easy, completely stress free. I'm very happy with Nationwide and if or when I get another pet I will 100% be insuring them with the company.

Claims take way too long to review

My claims for this particular dog took way too long to review. After the first review, they requested vet records (which they should've already received from my vet). Then I submitted the vet records and it still took another month to be reviewed again. Seriously rethinking whether I went with the right company.

Nationwide pet insurance exceeds my expectations.

This is the first pet that I've bought insurance for. I went with another company first but about 6 months later my company started offering Nationwide pet insurance as an option. The cost was about the same but the other company didn't offer wellness insurance so I decided to change. You hear things and see comments on TV so I was a little concerned but I've had several claims over the last 6 months and every one of them was simple to file, handled very quickly and the end results exceeded my expectations. It is so nice to have the peace of mind that if something does happen, I'll have help in covering a lot of the cost.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
