Returning customer

This is my second dog covered by Embrace. I had such a wonderful experience with my former little dog who lived to be nearly 19, all because Embrace does not quibble about the charges, pays promptly and cares enough to send a seeded card to express their condolences when I had to put my pup to sleep. This time around my new pup has had all her claims covered promptly and without questioning. I have boasted about the excellent coverage to my vet who is now referring Embrace to her many clients. This is an excellent company!

Review 1. Starting the process

This is our second attempt at gaining the benefit of this insurance company. Our first attempt we received nothing for our first pet. This review will be the first of a series of reviews detailing the company performance at each step. Claim submitted in under 5 minutes. Easy user interface. Claim was accompanied by pdf receipts showing $1131 in charges. No other documents submitted.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
