I cannot say enough amazing things about Specialists in Companion Animal Neurology (SCAN) and Dr. Jenna Lind. My Greyhound, Hammond, suddenly declined and was in excruciating pain, unable to walk, and despite everything my regular vet tried, he wasn’t improving. SCAN worked him into their schedule the very same day—even though they’re not an emergency clinic—and stayed late to perform his MRI, which showed a severe C6-7 herniation requiring complex surgery. Dr. Lind and her entire team went above and beyond. Greyhounds are uniquely challenging patients, and Hammond’s surgery and recovery had unexpected complications, but they never gave up on him. Their compassion, expertise, and unwavering support carried us through every setback. Today, just 2½ months later, Hammond is walking, happy, and living his full life again—and I truly credit Dr. Lind and the SCAN team for giving him that second chance. This is an extraordinary practice filled with the most caring, skilled, and dedicated professionals. They treat you and your pet like family, and I will be forever grateful. Five stars isn’t enough.

Dr Jeff and his team were awesome. Making the decision to have surgery on my dog was not an easy one but the team talked thru the options and the procedure. The surgery was successful and I am glad I went forward with it. The front desk, the technicians, and Dr Jeff were all super professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. Tech Brook and Dr Laifer were amazing! They were both so kind and helpful! Dr Laifer took us in super super last minute and took time helping and explaining options to me. Felt no pressure to do surgery or get expensive MRI. Yall really were great, thank you so much for your help and patience!! They seemed to care about my dogs mystery issues just as much as me. I can’t even begin to say how incredible SCAN is. They got us in within a day of calling & had a same day MRI. We had answers to mystery problem and an immediate plan of action. Dr Laifer, you are such an incredible veterinarian & surgeon. I was hysterical throughout this entire process from consult to getting the call that my boy made it through surgery and you handled all of my questions and tears with empathy and patience. You went above and beyond with extra testing to ensure our senior boy was getting exactly what he needed. You left no box unchecked and thoroughly explained everything both the how’s and whys. I can’t thank you enough for getting us through to the other side. Kelli, Jess, Brenden, you guys are amazing. Thank you for every single photo, every update, every extra second you spent with him, it meant the world to me to know how well taken care of he was and being kept updated as much as I was. I don’t know of anywhere else who would have walked rylie and myself through this like you both did. This is a gut wrenching experience to go through and you all made the time between talking to Dr Laifer so much easier to bear. To anyone who is needing a neurological clinic, look no further. Putting a 13 year old large dog through surgery is not an easy decision to make. We traveled two hours to be there and it was the best decision I could have ever made. The staff is incredible, the care and communication is above and beyond, I am so happy to have found you all and can’t thank you enough for saving Rylies life.

Dr. Laifer at SCAN was amazing! He stayed late on a Friday evening after closing to give our dog an emergency MRI and other testing. He called us several times to go over test results and help us decide the best course of medical care. His professionalism and bedside manner were wonderful and we appreciated everything he did for our dog and for us. We highly recommend Dr. Leifer at SCAN!
