How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Companion Veterinary and Urgent Care Center

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

This place is amazing. All other emergency vet waits were 4.5-5 hours long. Companion got us in an operatory very quickly. My dog had bloody diarrhea and was throwing up yellow bile, and I was terrified. Their operatories are comfortable and pet/owner friendly. They triage, so your wait depends on severity of each case, which is completely understandable. They were kind to me and amazing with my dog who has been abused and is typically very skittish. You could tell she felt comfortable with the staff, and that's a rarity. The staff there is all wonderfully educated, kind, compassionate, and caring. You can tell that they really love what they do. Lily received excellent care- the vet sat down in the chair across from me and spoke to me one on one about my dog's condition and treatment plan. It didn't feel rushed. She spent time with us to make sure we understood everything we needed to know. Prices were as I expected for a veterinary office, but they also offer 3rd party payment plans with 0% interest if you qualify. You will know what the fees will be prior to them completing any services, so you have the opportunity to accept or decline any of the suggested treatment (although I went forward with everything). I did not feel like they were trying to upsell or give my dog anything that she didn't actually need. I will be leaving my vets office and establishing Lily here, as they also offer general veterinary services. I was beyond impressed with our experience here. As an emergency patient, we spent about 3 hours total there, but I wouldn't change anything about our experience. I know they were providing excellent care to animals who needed their attention in a more timely manner than mine. They have very flexible hours in order to accommodate emergencies. I will be recommending this veterinary office to all my friends and family with fur babies. Thank you all for a phenomenal experience in our time of need.

Dr. Ambros and the entire team took great care of my kitty when he needed emergency surgery on Saturday. They communicated with me every step of the way and helped me choose the best way to treat him. They were attentive, understanding, friendly, and they did amazing work for my cat. I can’t say a single bad thing about my visits with them. Dr. Ambros quite literally saved my cats life and took care of him as if he were her own.

I started here as an emergency & very quickly requested that my dog's records be transferred as a regular patient. Lola was an older pet with some health issues, this staff was always so caring! Even if we were just in for a regular service, Lola would walk right in on her own! Lola loved the staff & I think she knew she was in good hands. Eventually Lola passed & I couldn't imagine having a more supportive group of people to get me through that very painful day as well as the time following. When Gia came along It was not a second thought who I would choose to provide her care. I only want the best for my pets and in my opinion I have found that.

My dogs, Bolton and Lily, have seen both Dr. Depto and Dr. Ambros. They have been nothing short of incredible. I’ve struggled with vets in the past dealing with my reactive husky, but they always handle him with such care. He’s not easy, but this team always goes above and beyond for him! When my Golden was having skin issues, they were able to quickly see her and help us get the situation under control. Every member of the staff is so friendly and accommodating, and each time I visit I am reminded why I am so grateful that they are around. I can’t thank this amazing team enough!

DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE! The only thing they care about is MONEY! I would give zero stars if I could. Our kitty choked to the point of convulsions. He passed out and wasn't breathing. We ran to the car with him, and drove to the emergency vet as quickly as we could. He was barely breathing. We ran into this clinic, and explained what had happened. The receptionist checked his gums, said they were pink, and that was good. She said they would check him more thoroughly, and asked me to fill out some paperwork. They asked for $100 before seeing him. At that point, we realized that we ran out of the house so fast, that we forgot our phones and our wallets. They refused to see him without the $100. I said if I could sign on to a computer, I would zelle or venmo them. They said they don't take those. We said we could call someone who could pay with a card over the phone. They said they don't do that. I said I promise we can pay, take my husband's wedding ring for collateral. They refused . It was one of the most cold and heartless experiences we've ever had. They were willing to let our wonderful sweet kitty die over $100. We left, and no thanks to them, Spanky is doing ok.
