How to Save on Veterinary Costs at VEG ER for Pets

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

VEG ER Georgetown is spectacular. They provided such grace, compassion, honesty, gentleness, and support as we said goodbye to my beloved soul dog Rex after 12.7 years together since I was 24. He was 13+. They did the hard thing and told me it was time so that I wouldn’t spend thousands more dollars to try and keep him alive to no one’s benefit. Dr. Bryant and Sufiya are angels. They were so intimate, personal, warm, kind, and real. We ordered a pepperoni pizza for Rex (and the staff) and he snarfed it up along with VEG’s “charcuterie” board in his final moments. They held space for my grief and suffering. They and so much respect for me while prioritizing Rex’s needs. We just picked up a package they prepared of his fur in lovely vials, many paw and nose prints, and a card signed by a bunch of the staff. There is no good way to lose your fur baby, none at all, and they made it as not horrible as humanly possible. Thank you furrever.

The whole team was amazing. They saved my frenchie Lola on the spot from respiratory failure. Lola was cared with excellent skills, love and lots of care. Her nurses Alex and Clencly were by her all the steps of her life threatening episodes, saving her twice from respiratory colapse. Her amazing Dr. Lopez was great walking me through all the intense life threatening episodes and ensuring she had her meds, tests and constant care around the clock. In the middle of an awful ER day, I felt in the best hands, and truly cared by all the staff and most importantly her immediate team. Best ER in the city! 💓🐶

Veg ER Georgetown is amazing! The staff is caring, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. I called the facility on a Saturday evening after midnight when my 8 year old Cocker Spaniel ate an entire block of cheddar cheese with caramelized onions! I was so worried and upset and didn't know what to do. When I called the Georgetown ER the receptionist was so kind and calmed me down. He told me not to worry and he immediately got the Dr. on the phone. The Dr. listened attentively and took the time to explain the best protocol for my dog. She asked me for the name of the cheese that my dog had eaten and quickly researched the ingredients and the amount of onion content per block of cheese. Luckily, the % of onion in the cheese was not in the danger zone for poisoning a 44lb. dog. I was utterly relieved and thankful for the help of the Dr. I wish I could remember her name, but unfortunately I was so distressed I forgot to write it down. Without asking for any compensation she took the time to genuinely help me and put my mind at ease. Thank you VEG ER Georgetown you are wonderful human beings!! My dog is feeling much better and thanks you as well!!

I truly loved my experience here with everyone—from the front desk to the vet techs and doctors. The entire staff treated both me and my fur baby with so much kindness and care. My first visit back in May was especially meaningful. Clover had been in a car accident, which was an incredibly traumatic experience for me, but the team acted quickly and made the situation feel as comforting and calm as possible for both of us. When we returned again in January (clover had an upset tummy due to eating some toys), it was wonderful to see the same caring staff once more. Thank you all so much for taking such great care of my fur baby I’m truly grateful.

We brought our 6 month old kitten Pigeon in at 2am after he was experiencing some minor complications post neutering. Dr. Bryant and her whole team made our experience smooth and calmed my anxiety. Pigeon was attentively and thoroughly cared for by each Veg vet tech and appreciated the calming meds he was given to help him through a tough time. I would absolutely recommend Veg to anyone seeking an emergency vet. Thank you, Dr. Bryant! Pigeon is healing up so much better and our regular vet said he looks in great shape now:)
