We have had the best experience at Livewell! We usually see Dr. John but have also had a really great experience with Dr. Amanda Stuto as well. Both doctors have been so friendly, patient, and willing to explain anything or talk through any concerns. We also appreciate that Dr. John is particularly understanding with our pug since he has brachycephalic dogs of his own. Both doctors have been willing to do exams on the floor since our dog is short and afraid of heights/standing on the table. Our dog has had multiple checkups, dental work under anesthesia, and a sick/injury exam and the care has been fantastic for all of these visits. Our dog loves all of the techs because they are wonderfully friendly and dote on him relentlessly. They're patient with him even though he is reactive when it comes to bloodwork. We get prompt and clear estimates + discharge papers every time. Pricing is fine - roughly the same as other vets in the area and it's transparent. The prescription system also works fine for us (it seemed annoying to switch from Chewy it really didn't end up being so bad - the prices are pretty much the same). This has been by far our best vet experience and I am so grateful that they are so conveniently located in the neighborhood!

Dr. John Von Kieckebusch is an exceptional veterinarian. He is extremely knowledgeable, takes the time to truly listen to pet owners, and thoroughly addresses all of my concerns. My pets are always genuinely happy to see him, which speaks volumes about the care and trust he builds with both animals and owners. Dr. Von Kieckebusch has treated many of my animals over the years and handles each one with patience, confidence, and compassion. I never feel rushed, and I always leave knowing my animals received thoughtful, high-quality care. I’m incredibly grateful to have a veterinarian I trust so completely and highly recommend him to anyone looking for outstanding veterinary care.

Please do not take your pet here - I never write negative reviews but I feel called to write this to protect our pets. I took my cat in for annual bloodwork and had a very traumatizing experience. They were unable to locate a vein and in the process “exploded” a vein and made him bleed. After 15 minutes, two vets, and hearing things like “is this the vein oh that’s a tendon” they decided to stop trying. I was clearly very emotional witnessing my fur baby so stressed out, and was told I should have put my cat on anxiety meds before the visit rather than any acknowledgement of the incident. They still wanted to charge me for an exam despite not a single test being completed. I’m happy to pay any amount to ensure the safety and well being of my cat, but what I witnessed was pure negligence and incompetence. 24 hours later my cat is over grooming incessantly to self soothe following the situation. I’m heartbroken and feel terrible for putting my cat in such a dangerous and traumatizing position. Don’t believe the positive reviews, they offer a $25 credit if you write a review on the spot at the vet clinic. The staff may act like they care about animals initially, but their bedside manner is a complete facade, and once it drops, you will feel it.

Both vets at this location are superb. Extremely kind and gentle with our dog. He has had seizures at other vets but not here - they’re very calm, attentive, and not trying to upsell you at every turn. Truly good people.

I was so excited to see a new vet hospital open up right here in NoMa. The facility is beautiful, clean and the entire team is so welcoming. Dr. Von Kieckebusch was incredible, my dog absolutely loved him. He was an absolute wealth of knowledge and I couldn’t recommend him and the team more. If you are looking for exceptional vet care, look no further than this place!
