How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Humane Rescue Alliance

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

I've donated animal toys and other items several times. The hours are convenient and the staff have been pleasant to interact with. There is a convenient place to pull the car in near the door as well. I would recommend this location for donation.

We adopted Bogo in 2019 from the same shelter and welcomed Cooper (formerly Woody) yesterday. They are happily sharing play time and nap time. We love Human Rescue Alliance and are so thankful for the work they do.

I came in last Sunday shortly after the shelter opened. I knew exactly which dog I wanted. I shopped around because I love animals, but Cassandra was coming home with me. It was love at first sight. I’ve been telling my girlfriend for months that I wanted an older chihuahua and I found one!!! A lovely person named Caroline introduced me to Cassandra and helped me through the adoption process. I adopted two cats here last year and my previous visits were lovely. However, Caroline made Cass’ adoption extra special. She was patient with me, answered all of my questions, and I loved the fact that she already had a great relationship with my dog! I will never forget the day I adopted Cassie. The past week I spent with her made this crazy year I had worth all the trouble. If I had room to adopt more fur babies, I would. Please adopt here on my behalf! I love this shelter. I can tell staff members here genuinely care for the animals.

Went there today to see about my kitten, and all the staff was just rude reminded me of talking to a private solider. They was handling my kitten like she and I was trash. My service dog was even happy to leave that place. I wouldn't recommend thi s place to any one. You be better off going to Kmart or dealing with walmart. O and by thw way my little 3 month old kitten died in my arms last night. Thank you for nothing.
