How to Save Money at Renew Pet Rehab

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I had a fantastic experience at Renew Pet Rehab! The front desk staff greeted us with warm smiles and were incredibly friendly, making the check-in process a breeze. Their attentiveness and kindness set a positive tone for our visit. Dr. Walsh was equally outstanding—very knowledgeable and compassionate. She took the time to explain everything and truly cared about my pet's well-being. I highly recommend Renew Pet Rehab for anyone looking for excellent care and a welcoming atmosphere!

I’ve had an amazing experience at Renew. Scheduling was easy, the front desk staff were professional, and Dr. Rachel was wonderful. I was honestly a little skeptical of pet rehab at first but I can totally see a positive change in my pup. He’s moving easier and seems so much happier. Thank you Renew team!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Renew Pet Rehab! From the moment we walked in, Dr. Walsh and the entire team treated my aging dog with exceptional care, compassion, and genuine expertise. Dr. Walsh’s knowledge in canine rehabilitation is outstanding — she took the time to thoroughly assess my dog’s needs and explain every step of the tailored therapy plan in a way that put us both at ease. Not only did she demonstrate deep understanding of senior dog mobility and pain management, but her gentle, patient approach made such a difference in my dog’s comfort and confidence. I’ve seen remarkable improvements in his movement, energy, and overall happiness thanks to her thoughtful, attentive service. If you want a team that truly cares and delivers results with professionalism and heart, Renew Pet Rehab is the place to go. We are forever grateful!

Update: I did reach out to the email below, twice, and no response. I also find it funny that after my review, they were given nine 5 star reviews almost all on the same day. Not sure if they’re paid for or fake reviews but odd either way. I was referred here and made a consultation appointment over the phone, they said they’d reach out and get my dog’s medical records. The appointment was this morning and when I showed up, they didn’t have her on the schedule and they didn’t have the medical records. They blamed the mishap of the medical records on the surgical center we used, which seems unlikely because they were always on top of everything. I heard two employees whispering about how I wasn’t on the schedule. Then they ask for my dog’s name and they didn’t even have her in the system at all. I heard one of them say she would go ask the doctor if she could still take me. So she comes back and takes me into a small room and lies to me and tells me I was on the schedule this whole time. I told them I would be working with the other rehab center I was speaking to. They were completely unprofessional.

We have relied on Dr. Walsh for decades as a kind, thoughtful, and deeply informed advisor and caretaker for our pups. Since she first started practicing, we’ve followed her through every chapter of her career. While she's expanded her specialties into pain mgmt and rehab, her approach has always been the same: calm, compassionate, and thorough. She has an incredible way with animals and an equally special way with their humans. Dr. Walsh takes the time to listen, explain options clearly, and make sure you feel supported in every decision. It’s rare to find someone who is both an exceptional veterinarian and a genuinely reassuring presence, and I trust her completely with any of our furry family members.
