How to Save Money at All Pets Animal Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

4/29/26 11:30 a.m. Walk-in Unfortunately, my Mom’s cat had passed away the night before, and I was trying to help her find somewhere to bring her cat to get cremated. I had called many different places on 4/28, but it was after hours for most places, so I had to wait until the next morning. After calling a bunch of different places and hearing outrageous prices, I was able to find All Pets Animal Hospital, and I’m really glad that I did. The person I spoke with was very kind and understanding, and the price for cremation was under $300. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a caring and understanding smile, and she had mentioned that she remembered we spoke on the phone earlier that morning. She treated us with compassion and patience. My Mom had carried her cat in with her blankets, and the woman behind the desk (unfortunately, I can’t remember her name because this was a tough day for all of us) gently received my Mom’s cat as well as the blankets. My Mom had asked if the blankets could go with her cat, and the kind woman said she would ask and try to make sure that the blankets go with her for cremation. We received all information very clearly, and the transaction was as painless as possible in that type of situation. We will be receiving my Mom’s cat back in a velvet bag, and we were assured that this would be a private cremation; meaning she will only be cremated by herself and not with other animals. Overall, this is definitely somewhere that I would bring my animals. This is a place that makes you feel comfortable and cared about.

When I first made an appointment and brought my cat in, the staff was very nice and easy to work with. Note this was during COVID restrictions, so I was not allowed inside with my cat who was about a year old at the time. I brought her in a crate, they took her from my car, and they brought her back out nearly 2 hours later. The nurse told me they were unable to give her shots because she was aggressive (I had never seen my cat be aggressive in any way previously), and they also failed to mention she was covered head to tail in her own pee. I realized immediately and had to give her a bath when we got home, which was not fun for either of us.. The vet had me buy some anxiety meds for another appointment, which did not work, so I purchased 2 additional medications to try (per their recommendation). After spending $80 and many hours on 3 separate vet trips, I nearly gave up. The third trip I insisted on going in with her, and they were able to do the shots with that combo of meds. Ever since that first visit, my cat is very skeptical of new people and places, and is terrified of any vets office. I don’t know what happened behind those closed doors, but it was traumatizing enough to change the entire attitude of my cat around new people. It breaks my heart that she still has issues with trusting new people, and I truly think this vet plays a large role in that. Staff was great with me, but terrible with my fur baby. Would not recommend if your fur baby needs some extra TLC to feel comfortable.

I can't thank All Pets enough, we rescued a rabbit and he needed extensive treatment. They worked with us and helped us save his life. Now he is so much happier and healthier. The Vet is an amazing person and vet she truly cares about people and their pets

I've been taking our dog here for annual check-ups, vaccinations and routine medications since 2022. I like the vet and her staff are very helpful, but this vet practice insists on adding a 3.9% surcharge on all credit or debit card transactions. All my purchases here have been pretty big (ranging betw. $90-300 in this past year)- so if I don't remember to bring my checkbook, then this extra fee is added. And I don't quite understand why? Wouldn't a business add this fee if a transaction is very small and thus, the cost to run a credit card diminishes the profit? But customers are making substantive purchases. This is 2025 and using a bank card is standard practice everywhere - I shouldn't have to pay a fee and sorry, I do not routinely run around with hundreds of dollars of cash in my wallet.
