When they finially got us and took us in room. Told me i would need $3-5,000 I only had $500 to work with. My dogs neck was so swollen up the they would not at least tell me what we were working with. It cost $200 for her to tell me that. Even tho i had $300 left she said blood work, Cat scan, tests will cost more that and wanted to keep him. Broke my heart. Found out a week later he has Mass Cell Tumor. CANCER

My precious cat got very sick, very quickly. We were sent from Ocala to UF Pet Hospital. Dr. Mamane was very compassionate and caring, and you could see the passion she has for animals. I have no complaints about the level of care they can provide and gave to my baby. The reason for 3 stars- they will only take CareCredit, no payment plans, no other financing or finance option like Cherry or Scratchpay, which many other vets take. I was originally quoted roughly $2,000. Okay, no big deal. Then the quote quickly went to $6,000-$8,000. So naturally the panic sets in. I apply for CareCredit. Denied. My husband applies for CareCredit. Denied. Mother in law? Denied. Both of my parents with almost 800 credit scores? Denied. In a non emergent situation, I would have gone to my credit union and had no issues pulling a personal loan, but the office wants 75% up front and unfortunately the credit unions are not open and writing loans at 6:30 in the evening. I understand the cost that goes into vet med, but emergency situations should be treated the same humans, care first worry about money later. I was more than happy to pay a large sum up front to the hospital and be put on a payment plan but they do not offer it, they only direct you to CareCredit. Or I would have been more than happy to get a personal loan as soon as the credit union opened the next morning. So to the vets and vet staff, you are great people. To the financial department at UF who makes these decisions, do some serious reflecting because the person who decided this business model was okay clearly thinks about money before a life.

Disclaimer: if you can’t afford the price of *their services they will recommend euthanasia. Brought my dog that was in shock in for emergency services and they gave him medication, within 20 minutes of being there told me he wasn’t improving it would be 3-4k for the hospital stay when I said I did not have the kind of money they strongly recommended I euthanize my dog. I even brought up taking him home and to his regular vet when it opened and they tried to convince me he was going to suffer and the most humane thing was to euthanize. 3 vets looked me in the eye and said he wouldn’t make it, their mistake was letting him walk into the goodbye room. The dog I brought in could not walk, the dog they wanted me to euthanize was walking and wagging his tail. Me and my dog walked out of there, were charged for a euthanasia they did not preform, 4 days later have not been refunded and when I called to ask about his collar they hung up on me. My dog survived btw, I took him to his local vet when they opened and they were able to fix him up for less than $500. They agreed he had plenty of fight left in him. Not sure if it was breed related but he is a pitbull. I’m convinced the shots they gave him when we got there saved his life, but they either were unwilling to give him time or just did not have the compassion I would hope to expect from this next generation of veterinarians.

I’ve visited twice in the past month for emergency calls with friends' dogs, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Every person we spoke with was compassionate and gave us their full attention. The wait was much shorter than expected for late-evening visits. Even though these were emergencies, the issues were mostly diagnostic and treatable at home once evaluated. This helped keep costs down since my friends felt confident handling the care themselves, though the staff was more than willing to step in if needed. Overall, both were great experiences that provided my friends with much-needed peace of mind.

I had a wonderful experience at UF, it was a very scary time for me, my Pomeranian Polly had a stroke and my vet told me to take her to the hospital. She had all of the testing needed to find the reason for her declining health. Yes it was expensive but we have the answers now, she has an autoimmune disease which will be controlled with 1 prednisone a day!!! My doctor was Dr.Jenise Carter, she is an internal medicine veterinarian and she called me every morning and every evening to update me on my dogs progress, my dog will now live a long healthy life now and for me you can’t put a price on that. I thank her from the bottom of my heart, God bless her ♥️
