How to Save Money at GoodVets Delray

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

The best vet to take your puppy too. Conveniently located right next to Woof Gang which is a place you can get a treat for your dog after the visit. They offer a coffee, water upon arrival. It is very high end and you’re treated like you’re the most important person when you walk through. They have multiple staff that help while getting shots so your dog is secure and feeling safe. Julian is my favorite of the staff although none of them fall short of amazing! They are open on weekends and have easy scheduling through the app or online. I wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else. The staff truly care for pets. The photos along the walls of the dogs are all portraits of the staff’s dogs at homes. Truly good dog people that I would trust for all opinions for my dog.

We love this place. Dr. Tomasino is the GOAT when it comes to pet care. Super friendly, professional, gentle, caring and knowledgeable. We’re extremely happy that after all the research looking for the perfect vet for Bali, we chose GoodVets.

I have a dog with cushings disease and about 2 years ago found an incredible vet to manage her care. Dr. Jodie M. Weiser. When she was no longer at the practice I was visiting and being so upset I set out to find her. I found her and she is at Good Vets Delray Practice. After forwarding all of Maggie's records I made an appointment. I was so happy to see Dr. Weiser. She is an incredible doctor. I have owned dogs my entire life (and I"m 60) and she certainly stands out as one of the most compassionate, caring, and genine vets I have dealt with. She listens and takes your thoughts and feelings into account when treating your pets. A++++ for this vet. About the staff at Good Vets Delray. I chose them for Dr. Weiser, but after visiting the practice I give the entire staff a 10 star. Friendly, knowledgeable and caring staff. Non-judgemental and compassionate. So HAPPY with all of them. The appointment process - easy, the appointment - quick and easy, and the staff is so friendly. The back staff even had me hold her to take her blood pressure to take the anxiety off Maggie. Please take my word. I currently have 4 dogs (thank goodness the other 3 are healthier) but will be clients of Good Vet in the future when needed.

I have brought my two cats Maggie and Annie and have been very happy with both appointments. Two different vets and both very nice along with their assistand. I plan to have them for my two babies. Niether cat was stress ed and relaxed for their shots. They suggested the 3 year rabies and the feline and well worth it. Saves me visits each year and saves me money and lots less stress for 3 years. One rabies shot was over $ 350 for both for just one year. For 3 years it was $284. Each. A big savings. Thank you Good Vets. Pat Miller
