How to Save Money at Bravo Animal Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I’ve had multiple visits with Dr. Bravo and his staff for my multiple dogs and cat and every experience has been consistently positive. All of my visits have been walk-ins, so I always expect a bit of a wait since scheduled appointments are being seen as well. Despite that, the staff does their best to keep things moving and remain kind and professional throughout. Dr. Bravo stands out for his honesty and clear communication. He takes the time to explain all possible scenarios for your pet’s situation and walks you through the best options without pressure. I always feel like I understand what is going on and what the realistic outcomes are. The staff is caring, patient, and treats both pets and owners with compassion, even during stressful visits. I’m very grateful for the care my dogs have received here and would recommend Dr. Bravo and his team to anyone looking for a vet who is straightforward, thorough, and genuinely cares about animals.

My dog Mars, (Maltipoo), was a rescue, he would not let anyone groom him, but Bravo handled it! Thanks Barbara! (his groomer) he looks great and you're incredible! My husband Wayne and I love Bravo Animal Clinic. Best place for your animals!!

I see people on here complaining about the wait time. I do agree you have to wait a long time but if you make the first appointment and get their first, then you don’t. I think Dr. Bravo is an excellence veterinarian as well as for parrots and birds, etc., etc. my Aviary who’s been around for like 30 years recommended me to him and he is knowledgeable about birds and parrots and doesn’t unnecessarily stress the bird out! Of course the birds are gonna get stressed out from any kind of test cause it’s something that’s not normal and who likes to be poked or prodding. Anyways, I wanted to leave a five star review because the staff is very sweet and very kind from my experience experiences that I’ve been there multiple times the doctor is phenomenal! I’ve never met a veterinarian that literally will sit in the room with you and explain everything in detail until you understand everything and answer all your questions! Today with my visit with my African Grey and my puppy, I told him at the end of the visit. Thank you so much for taking the time to sit here that long and go over so many questions and answers that I have and his reply was well thank you for understanding the wait times to see me and I told him I don’t like it, but I understand because of the amount of time he literally sits there and spends with you and Your Pets. So he is an excellent veterinarian and I can vouch for this as I am a breeder of dogs and I’ve been to so many vets and nobody not one. Spends the time with you that this Dr does! So if you’re looking for a vet whether it’s a dog cat or yes, a parrot he’s the Vet for your pet!

Dr. Bravo is a really wonderful caring doctor who takes time with each patient and pet parent. The staff is really great as well! Wait times may be a little long but it's worth the wait!

Dr Bravo needs no introduction, nor good reviews as he has plenty but I do want to share my experience and it goes way beyond his medical knowledge. This wasn’t the first time I take one of my dogs to Dr Bravo and certainly won’t be my last but it made an impact. My boy was pretty sick. He was pretty sick when he got to Dr Bravo and had been under the care of another veterinarian. Dr Bravo took his time looked over my boy , handled him with compassion and care as did ALL of his staff from front desk to techs. He suggested I take him to a specialist , which I took my boy to and to no avail because they wouldn’t listen to what had already be done which may have really set him back. After trying for weeks with the specialist and 3 other veterinarians . I went back to Dr Bravo and he put his best effort on a very sick dog to do what none of the other Drs had done because he cared because my boy mattered to him. Dr Bravo is what every vet should strive to be , he takes his oath to heart and a true example of what a veterinary clinic and their staff should be. They weren’t only great with Riggins, they were great to both of us. When I read reviews complaining about wait times etc I say there’s a reason why there’s a wait time. They’re taking their time to make sure they aren’t missing anything on dogs like my Riggins , dogs that need that extra time. Owners that need a little extra time saying goodbye and maybe handling a dog that needs a soft hand. To me they are undeniably the best Dr and staff. Thank you all for helping Riggins and I . I especially want to thank Dr Bravo, Lucy, Alicia and all of the techs that laid their hands on him to try and make him better and save him …. He thanks you too.
