SPOT is FANTASTIC!
SPOT is a fantastic company to work with. They are professional, have great online tools for claims and payments. Communication is timely and clear. And they PAY. I've insured two dogs through SPOT for the last couple of years and both have experienced health issues; one elderly and one with cancer and requiring TPLO surgery. SPOT honored all claims appropriately. So easy to work with. I tell everyone.

Affordable insurance for multiple pet households
I looked into pet insurance after having two old dogs get a bunch of chronic old dog issues at the same time and learned how expensive that is without insurance. I have had Spot Insurance for a little over a year. currently covering two dogs and 4 cats. I liked the flexibility of choosing preventative and accident/illness and setting my deductible, percentage reimbursed and max yearly payout. The turn around time on reimbursements is fast. Usually just a few days. Only once did a claim take longer, only because they checked on something with my vet. The only thing that could be better is covering more than $20 on blood work under the preventative care. Not so important for young pets, but for senior pets that get a senior wellness panel (cbc, serum biochemistry, thyroid) to catch any issues early, $20 doesn’t even cover much of one test.

Do not recommend
July 25,2022 update: I cannot believe they just called me to offer to reinstate one of my three policies! They wanted to offer me a discounted rate to reactivate one of my three policies, do they not look at your file, do they not read that I asked to be on the do not call list. No shame, to put me through months of work, then when I cancel they want my money again. Your response is just more lips service with no actual customer service. I did send the documents to you, I am the policy holder. Even yesterday when I cancelled my 3 policies the representative I spoke with told me a supervisor would call me yesterday, but as I expected no call. Do not recommend, you can only communicate via email, have 3 dogs insured for over a year, never a claim. My first claim was denied, they state it was preexisting. They would not speak with me or my vet, I could not speak with anyone. I sent 5 emails, follow up paperwork from 2 previous vets, that I sent as my dogs are rescues and have been vetted every step before I adopted. I have asked them to reopen the claim and see additional documents and get no response. I have now switched to a different provider. Very much impossible to get any one to talk to once you have any issues.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I cancelled my pet insurance and was told it takes 3-5 business days to get a refund. As of today, the 10th business day I still have not received a refund. I have emailed, phoned and texted and always get the same answer: " our accounting team is trying to catch up and you will receive your refund in the order it was received". When does a companies problem become my problem? With a good company it does not. Beware of this company.

Charging Cancellation Fees due to them unable to offer coverage
They were initally able to provide insurance for me. Once I needed full coverage for financing a newer vehicle they were unable and then charged me a huge cancellation fee and were not able to provide me with any option for staying with the company. Terrible

Price is very reasonable, claim processed as expected
Price is very reasonable for a 2yr old dog. Coveragee was exactly as expected based on the policy I chose. They handled all claim inquiries to my vet without any additional information required of me. Claim was processed faster than expected.
