Three Active Dogs Make It a Necessity

With three active dogs (Thomas. Daniel and Jenny), there alway seems to be an illness or accident (however minor) cropping up. My husband and I are very glad we have the ASPCA insurance plan and wish we had had it when one of our former dogs (Meggie) tore first one ACL, then the other. My only problem is with the terms of the policy renewal, when a condition is treated in one calendar year and becomes "pre-existing" in the next, resulting in no further coverage for that issue. I can't imagine what would happen if human coverage ended that abruptly.

PETS BEST IS A COMPANY TO STAY AWAY FROM

I HAD INSURANCE ON MY DOG FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS, BEGINING AT AGE 3 OR 4 MONTHS, AFTER NEEDING EMERGENCY CARE FOR MY DOG ONLY THIS ONCE, PETS BEST TURNED DOWN MY CLAIM AND I HAD TO PAY ALL OUT OF POCKET, I WAS TOLD BY MY VET THAT AS OF LATE THEY HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH PETS BEST, AND IT'S GETTING HARD TO GET THEM TO PAY FOR ANY CLAIMS, ONLY THING THEY ARE GOOD WITH IS SITTING BACK AND COLLECTION MONEY EACH MONTH FOR THE POLICES THEY SALE...WHAT A RIP OFF!

Pets best saved my beloved cat

My poor cat ate a hair tie. Could not eat anything and had to be saved by surgery. Bill came to over 2 k. I could not effort if it was not for the fact that 80% was covered by Pets Best. Now I have her back and she is alive and well.

an inaccurate description of the excellent coverag

Left VPI because although they were up front about their coverage, the vet I go to is very expensive and their fees were not enough. The salesman for Pets best SOLD me on the insurance with his explaination of the way the benefits work. I told him why I was switching and he made Pets Best sound UNBELIEVABLE. I came to find out that he was right, they were unbelievable. Mia, my 1 1/2 yr old shi tzu had a gastric stomach...(just like a human would have) when I had VPI. I explained to the salesman that VPI did not pay enough and as I said before, my vet is very expensive so I was seeking insurance that would meet my needs if ever I had another problem. As I said, he sold me, he even said that that was not pre-existing. Cancer yes, but a gassy stomach no. That would be like saying if MIA had a cold under VPI and got another under Pets Best, it would be considered pre-existing. Anyway, PB said when Mia had her gassy stomach again that it was pre existing. I told them, and my vet told them in writing the anology about the cold and they still would not pay. I told them what the salesman said and that the only reason I switched was so that I wouldn't have to worry about the extreme costs anymore. Before having this problem, I got another puppy, a male Shi tzu. I got the insurance for him thinking that I was saving myself alot of money in the long run. Another $7 hundred and something a year. I had ia in again about 2 months ago and for a bill of almost $300.00, I re

If you read the policy you will get what you pay f

It really irks me to read some comments about premium costs and that the insurance dosn't pay for exam fees, teeth cleaning, shots...Did these people not read the policy. Trupanion's policy is so simply and very easy to understand. If you are looking for that type of coverage there are plans out there that cover teeth cleaning and shots and exam fees. Don't bash because you didn't read the policy. My kitty had cancer and Trupanion paid 90% of her cost with no deductible. They paid over $15,000. So what if I had to pay a couple of $50 exam fees. Big deal. Trupanion paid a whopping about and I have my kitty today because I was able to get her the best state of the art treatment due to the fact I had Trupanion paying 90%. I submitted a claim every week for over 12 weeks, never was one lost or messed up. This is a great insurance. I am so thankful to have had it. It really bothers me when people leave negative reviews because they didn't do their homework. Trupanion does exactly what they say they will do!

Life Saver

I know sometimes reading these reviews you wonder is this a real person...well I am. I insured my kitty Jezebel with Trupanion in January 2010. In June 2010 she was diagnosed with vaccine related fibrosarcome cancer (very large tumor on her right hip). Trupanion has paid over $15,000 to date for Jezebel's surgery, chemotherapy, radiation treatments and checkups. She finished treatment in October and is doing so great. I faxed my claim to Theresa (my claims rep) on Monday and had a check in the mail by Saturday. Trupanion is the BEST ever! Jezebel thinks so too.

Pet's Best is best

I have a one year old Goldendoodle who was insured by VPI. He went in to the vet at 8 months old with diarehia and he had scratched his eye playing with other pups. the Vet bill came out to about $500. Of this, VPI paid NOTHING. They claimed it was a pre-exisiting condition. Pre-exisiting condition at 8 months old? This pup also came from a VERY GOOD breeder. I dropped VPI on the spot and signed up with Pet's Best. A few months later my pup scratched a section of his neck raw. The vet couldn't figure out why, but the 2 visits to cure him came out to about $400. Of that VPI paid about $230 ( they would have paid more if it weren't for the deductables). They were fast, friendly and I actually think they care about their patients ( our pets). They definately made a loyal costumer out of me. Keep up the great work Pet's Best and help us keep our pets healthy and happy 8)

My Saving Grace

One never can expect the unexpected. I have three young cockapoos, one of which suddenly became prone to ear infections and quickly required a decision on essential and expensive surgery. After much research and stress in making the decision to complete the surgery, it sure was nice to know I had ASPCA insurance. The surgery was successful and the claim payment was received within a few weeks. In a stressful situation it sure was nice to know I had one saving grace, ASPCA!
