Amazing Quality
I purchased Healthy Paws Pet Insurance last year, thinking it would help me sleep at night, but never thinking I would actually need it. Unfortunately, this has not been the case and I have submitted several claims over the last several months. All were processed immediately and there was no "funny business". In addition, the staff have been very empathetic. I could not say enough positive things about this company and would recommend it to anyone who has a four legged family member.

Another promptly paid claim
The claims adjusters are very good about communicating status of a claim and explaining the settled reimbursement.

OK Insurance, not great, not too bad
Representatives are nice and polite. The process is easy to follow. The premium is affordable. The "80% of reasonable Charge" is not good. I compared several vets in my area, they all charge the similar price, but ASPCA considers all of them over charged, so I really get reimbursed 50%-70%. Don't know where ASPCA get their standard of charges for my area. ASPCA should provide a list of vets in each area that do not "over charge" patients, that will make their decision more acceptable. First month after activate insurance, the health issues are not covered, this should be improved. The puppies that were checked by vet before go to new home at 8 weeks of age, and was checked right after arrive the new home(next day?) should be immediately covered, unless the illness happened within first month of insurance is determined by vet as an existing issue started before Insurance was bought. Puppies are very like babies, need extra care, that is why I buy insurance for them. One month no cover but still need to pay premium is really not right.

Embrace made our decision an easier one
After having inherited two dogs years ago that had ACL repairs and knee replacements, I vowed to never get a new pet without health insurance again. It can be heartbreaking to have to make a decision when a big price tag has to be considered. When we got our new husky the first thing I did was to research insurance. I wanted to be sure we were taking care of any potentially big thing like the expensive ACL surgeries our collie had. Little did I expect that our pure breed 16 month old husky would be diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia. After a teary phone call to Embrace, I felt a sense of security knowing not only would the surgery be covered (over $4000), but also any needed therapy. The surgery happened the next day and an Embrace rep contacted me to be sure all was ok. The process was simple and reimbursement was fast. But the best part was really the caring attitude and continued follow up. Embrace people are obviously PET people and not just corporate. I will never get another pet without Embrace coverage. I highly recommend Embrace.

Rufus the dog LOVES Healthy Paws!
I insured our new dog, Rufus, who we adopted from a local shelter, about a month after we got him. A friend recommended Healthy Paws and I was skeptical at first - would it be worth the monthly cost? Well, after extensive research comparing Healthy Paws' prices and plans to other companies, I decided Healthy Paws offered the best coverage for the best rate (AND they give back to homeless pets, which is important to me). Still unsure if the insurance would really pay off, I decided to give it a go. Now a couple months later, I am confident enrolling Rufus with Healthy Paws was the right decision, and we will remain a customer for life! The customer service is fantastic, the claim forms are easy to fill out and submit, and everything is handled in a timely fashion - including reimbursement. One great perk is that the deductible is annual - not per incident. Our lovely dog has managed to already hit that deductible in the short time we've had him, and now we'll only be responsible for 10 percent of his healthcare costs for the rest of 2011. I can't say enough great things about Healthy Paws - I highly recommend the company, and I highly recommend your investment in pet insurance! It provides great peace of mind to know your pet will always be able to receive the medical care they need without maxing out your credit cards.

Taking the curse off pet health expenses
My 2 german shepherd dogs suffered from severe itching since September 2010. It was very difficult getting to the root cause of their symptoms finally in April 2011. Pollen or mold allergy was first suspected, then food allergy. After many veterinarian visits and symptom treatment a visit to the recommended canine dermatologist repeated the skin scraping test (negative again) but he deduced that their symptoms were most like scabies. This treatment cured their itching. ASPCA Pet Insurance came thru with timely reimbursement to cover much of the veterinarian and medication expenses. The only dissappointment is that even after meeting my deductable the insurance covered only a portion of the remaining expenses. Despite this disappointment, pet health insurance reimbursement more than paid for the insurance premium so I believe it is very cost effective.
