Glad to have the ASPCA pet insurance

I purchased the insurance for my 2 adopted kittens 3 years ago because I've had pets in the past that had their share of troubles and always had to foot the entire vet bill which was financially difficult. Recently one of my cats had a rather strange problem in that he ate a plastic grocery bag and it, of course, resulted in an intestinal blockage. It also happened over a holiday which required a stay at an emergency vet clinic. Having the ASPCA insurance gave me peace of mind that I could get him the care he needed to recover. I didn't get 100% back, but it certainly was worth the monthly premiums. My claim was handled quickly, and the reimbursement explanation was thorough and easy to understand. Thanks, ASPCA!

Excellent coverage

Trupanion helped save my little Shih Tzu's life. My total bill was over 3,000 and 90% of this was paid within 2 weeks. I didn't have to make life or death decisions based on financial concerns.

Great Experience

I called in to cancel my coverage and the agent was kind enough to point out that I had not yet even used my wellness credit. I put together a group of receipts and lo and behold, my dog needed to be seen for back pain! I'm so glad I have the coverage and will definately be a customer for years to come. Thanks, Embrace!

Amazing service....

My husband and I have been so impressed with the communication, quick claim review and disbursement of the funds. We have had such bad experiences with our personal health insurance that it is such a relief and an unexpected surprise to see how smoothly this process has gone. Is there any way you can work with people insurance carriers to show them how to do this ;-)?

They really don't put any effort on reimbursing yo

I filed a claim and it's been over a month and no reimbursement. I called before taking my dog to the vet and confirmed everything was covered under my policy... and still is. Everytime I call them they say they are pending the vet's report but they never actually contact my vet to request it (i confirmed if they had the right phone number and everything). One week later I call again, and they say the same thing... two weeks later I called and they say the same thing. I don't want to be mean or anything but how hard is it to call a vet, get the info and match against the policy and cut a check? is that a 2 months + task? I can't see how this can be. =( I will definitely find another pet insurance after this claim.

Don't go without it

In my years as a pet lover and owner I have just seen so many situations that could have been so much more stressful had the costs been more of a factor of care. Snakebite has cost friends over $2000. My basenji/ border collie mix had so many health issues during her lifetime including bone cancer. Unexpected illness or injury are just less stressful having insurance to help the costs!

Trupanion is the BEST!

I have tried other pet insurance in the past and every claim was a fight to get covered. With Trupanion they are amazing in how quick they approve claims and get your check in the mail. Their customer service is amazing. I highly recommend them to anyone!

Be Very, Very Wary Of This Company!

When we got our adopted papillon mix, we noticed that his walk looked like a lady walking in heels....his back feet always crossed over each other. We never thought much of it. Last fall, he seemed to be in increasing pain and we thought he had hurt his back, so we took him to the vet. They were VERY thorough. We were told that yes, his back was very sore and tender, but that it was due to the fact that he could not walk properly and would need surgery to correct the issue. They called it patella luxation, grade3 on both legs.Evidently, he was born like this and had most likely always been in some discomfort, but had been able to adapt up to this point. The vet also had x-rays taken to check for anything in the spine, such as calcification or degeneration that would indicate disc disease. They came back clean. Surgery was performed, he healed and was super. We were able to afford to insure him shortly after with Trupanion. Late this summer, he again showed pain, only this time in his head/neck/ upper shoulder area and we took him to the vet. Again, x-rays were taken and again, they came back with no indication of calcification or degeneration. However, this time, after checking movement range, etc. the vet said disc disease. Please note: this was in an area never bothered before. Trupanion denied our claim saying that because tenderness was noted in his back before his knee surgery (when he was not insured),and because the vet at that time looked at disc disease as a possibilit
