I love Trupanion
I rescued a wonderful 2 year old dog (Dee Dee) from an animal orphanage in September 2011 and carefully researched pet insurance plans before choosing Trupanion. In June 2012 my high energy, always happy dog became very lethargic. Testing revealed a diagnosis of diabetes and our world changed overnight. Dee Dee now receives an insulin shot twice a day, eats special dog food specific to her condition, and has blood work periodically to check her insulin level. If I did not have pet insurance, I would have had to return DD to the animal orphanage because I could not afford her medical care. Since the diagnosis, I've paid my $100 deductible and have been reimbursed 90% for DD's diagnostic testing, blood work, insulin, syringes and a portion of her food. Knowing that these expenses are reimbursable gives me peace of mind - getting pet insurance was a smart move and Trupanion was a great choice. The reimbursement process has been easy and fast. Their customer service representatives have been very helpful and always pleasant.

It seems like 90% coverage after deductible is a bit of a stretch. It ended up being about 60-65% but it was a fairly quick response.

Pets Best is really great! They are super friendly and are willing to quickly answer questions when I call if I have any about my policy. My claim form was dealt with SUPER FAST, I received a check probably 3 days after I filed. Very amazing! The only complaint I have is that dental is not included with my policy. I think there is another policy you can get with that, but I wish they would include that.

So far, so good!
My dog is just under a year old, and I've recently had to take him to several vet appointments and run various tests, x-rays, do an ultrasound, etc. It's been the first time since I got him the insurance at 8 weeks that I've actually started utilizing it. I've been very happy with how quickly Healthy Paws has processed the claims I've sent in, and sent reimbursement checks once I reached my deductible.

It is great
The only thing I do not like is that they do not pay for the physical befor they cna diagnosis something they need to be check out and that is not covered. Other than that the insurance is great.
