I have 2 dogs that are both under 2 years old. I got them insurance for the first time when they were about 1 year old and my boyfriend laughed at me and told me I was too protective. Well...one of my dogs had 2 growths develop on his leg and we got them checked out but the vet told us not to worry about them. The first growth went away but the second growth grew very rapidly and became about the size of a golf ball on his leg. We had to get it removed and tested for cancer (came back benign, Yay). The whole experimence would have cost us about $700 but we only paid our deductable ($250) and was reimbursed for the rest. We got the reimburstment very quickly. We saved about $450 for this one incident and for both dogs it cost us about $550 a year to insure. It is definitely worth it.
