My last Golden Retriever cost me thousands in Vet bills over his 10 year life...I did not have insurance. When I acquired my current Golden, I immediately signed up for VPI pet insurance. Previous to signing up, my puppy had been playing with some other dogs and developed a slight limp. I took him to the vet who said it was just a sprain. We took xrays and did blood work as well to rule out Valley Fever. Because of this one incident, my Golden was listed as a preexisting condition. I appealed and after 6 months and another checkup, the prexisting was removed. I have used the insurance once when a play toy of inferior quality came apart and a piece of the toy lodged in my dogs digestive tract. The entire vet bill was almost $500. The claim was easy to submit and I was reimbursed quickly. I would hightly recommend VPI insurance for peace of mind and financial help in health issues.
