Our family has seven golden retrievers altogether. We have insured each one as soon as they arrived from the breeder at about 8 weeks old. We lost our girl last year and she was insured since we brought her home. It was well worth having the insurance since our Jenny was taken care of by our vet and VPI covered everything they could. We have somewhat healthy goldens but I would not go without insurance. In fact we were the first to use it over 12 years ago at our vet and now our vet keeps the forms on file, will contact VPI if needed and advertises VPI. I'm actually on a first name basis with the CFO's executive assistants. They always want their insured and the insured's owners happy and healthy. I do spend over 350.00 per month, but it's little compared to having to make a financial decision when it comes to a member of our family.
